Ta-DAAAAH! We have a winner.

I'll go & start digging through the youthful indiscretions of those who would hold this against Mr Hearn in a minute, once I have finished flagellating myself for what an utter pudendum I was, twenty years ago.* However, this could take some time, so gobbles & cardifflad, why don't you start the confessions of your petty cruelties & wrongdoings, just to get the ball rolling.

This. S'all a bit transparent, really, innit? Also: I hope when Japp has finished his one-man Matchroom boycott he stops buying things from Nestle, Hugo Boss, Siemens, Bertelsmann (Random House, BMG Records etc) & IBM. Although, as these entities only supported/worked for/facilitated the Holocaust, I'm sure it's far lower on his agenda than holding a grudge against someone who might've been a twat at private school (which is in itself a well-known breeding ground for developing a well-rounded, humanistic & kind worldview).

Exactly.

I am probably not the only one here guilty of having bullied people in the past (during my school days) and have deep regret for the upset I know I caused.

A bully usually has troubles of his own and sometimes these can be channelled into negative and abusive behaviour against other people.

It doesn't mean a person is evil.

If Eddie did bully Jodie in school then big deal - the guy was a kid at the time and it's difficult at that age to know the extent of the damage your behaviour is causing.

How people behave as a kid or teen does not define them as a person. It is how they kick on from there that counts most. Obviously bullying should never be encouraged and should not be overlooked and be tackled where ever possible but I do not believe in chasing after grown up people to punish them for bullying offences caused as a child or young teen.

Yes, but to be fair to Hugo Boss, he brought a certain flair and panache to nazism - which can't be such a bad thing now can it?

IT'S a classic mystery involving a beautiful girl and a heartless villain.

Just who was the bully who made glamour model Jodie Marsh's life a misery at her private school?

Former classmates were quick to identify a suspect when the Essex Wives star said she started wearing her outrageous outfits in a quest for fame to "show her bullies I wasn't ugly and could be something".

And the name that came up was Eddie Hearn - son of top boxing promoter Barry Hearn. One ex-classmate claimed: "Eddie fits the bill all right. There was an 'in-crowd' who used to pick on Jodie."

Another added: "Eddie was part of a popular group. But I don't think he was popular, so much as a bully - and people were scared of him. He and Jodie didn't get on very well. She got a lot of sh** because she had a big nose. She wasn't very popular and definitely didn't enjoy school."

Friends of Jodie - a close rival to Jordan in the upfront glamour market - have also pointed the finger at Hearn, 24, who now runs the golf section of his father's multi-million-pound sports management and promotion empire and also manages champion golfer Greg Owen and rookie John E. Morgan.

But he firmly denies that he was the bully.

"All I can say is there is no truth in it," he insists. "I've got nothing to do with the matter, I don't know what you are talking about ."

Millionaire's daughter Jodie, 24, was educated at pounds 10,000-a- year Brentwood School in Essex, where famous old boys include Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and comedy star Griff Rhys-Jones. She has three A-levels and once dreamed of becoming a lawyer.

Jodie has said she was picked on after rejecting the advances of a boy - but has never named him. She said: "This boy was the ringleader of the year, incredibly rich and popular When he asked me out I said no because all I wanted to do was learn...and then the nightmare began.

"The bullying started when I was 11 and continued right through school. I was a bit of a boffin and got bullied for being clever. I was also bullied for my nose, which had a huge bump after I broke it playing hockey. Then I had a nose job and got bullied because of that."

Eddie's father Barry Hearn, who is chairman of Leyton Orient Football Club, made his name in the 1980s as manager of snooker legend Steve Davis. He then broke into boxing, promoting world title fights for Frank Bruno, Chris Eubank and Prince Naseem.

Its the same as one of the links but this is for the benefit of people on works PC's that cannot sometimes follow links,...... :TU:

When was this article written? No way is Jodie Marsh 24 years old. Or am I missing something?
She's now 33 (born December 23rd 1978 according to Wikipedia)...so that article must have been written in 2003...O_o

If this article written circa 2003 is still on line and on a national newspapers website why hasn't Hearn with all his media savvy had legal people all over it to have it removed? Simple reason is it is true and Jodie pointed the finger at him in private long before he was let loose with his dads money.

If as some suggest she is only saying it now and because Eddie is famous (is he?) why didn't she name frank lampard who also went to school with her?

The fact is it is true, if it's not why isn't Eddie denying it or even commenting on it? He has something to say on most things so why not this?

I'm not a particular fan of Jodie Marsh as she like Eddie is a media whore hell bent on self promotion. the thing is, when someone has been bullied and oppressed then jodies behaviour of attention grabbing and getting noticed could well be a result of her bullied past. Makes sense.

So basically not only does it appear that Eddie is a pitiful school bully (no deniel) but he is responsible for giving us Jodie Marsh.

Apparently, Jodie is preparing to name names in a newspaper article and donating her fee to an anti bullying charity. If those names have no profile there would be little point so Eddie looks like the prime suspect!

Funny that your names 'boxingchat' and you never actually seem to talk about boxing, isn't it?

I think 'boxingwanker' would be a far more appropriate handle for you.

Boxing Chat, Andy Ayling, BN Goon, FW Rep...whoever you are, hardly the voice of reason and impartiality, are you? Rather than focus on this, you could remind your boss that he still owes JC over a million quid. Amusing to take subtle digs at Eddie, without any proof and then lay it on Ms Marsh, too while working for and acting on behalf of a Promoter who blatantly 'stiffed' one of Britian's ATG's. He was bitter then and he is bitter now

Regarding Ms Marsh. She used to have some great knockers and a fantastic arse on her and seeing as I have met her, I can certainly vouch for the fact that she is actually a very good laugh, really down to earth and actually.......quite normal.

Nice girl, when you meet her.

So if someone doesn't deny or doesn't comment on something, the allegation or rumour must be true? Ah, that answers a few questions I've had about boxers being paid. Cheers :TU:

Everything wrote here is reasonable. Nobody had heard of Eddie back then so why name him? If this was Khan getting named he would be the scum of the earth on here. Eddie gets a free pass for getting his two best fighters beat up!

By two of the best pound for pound fighters in the world in the shape of Sergio Martinez and Andre Ward respectively. At least at Matchroom their fighters are more willing to take anyone on unlike some promoters within the sport. As for the free pass perhaps there is a slight racism edge to it with Khan being a British Asian and a devout Muslim, and Hearn Jnr being White British and presumably better educated too.

Hearn let Darren Barker keep his entire purse from the Martinez fight. Only taking a slice of the tv money from Sky if memory serves me right.

Something like £270,000 or something.

Only a prick would ridicule an unbeaten fighter having a crack at the consensus no1 in the division.
