Good card at the Mansfield Tavern in a couple of weeks.

Always a good atmosphere there.

But the commentators said Meehan had "beaten world class opposition virtually every time he's been asked".
Yes, that says a lot about the commentators......We have some of the worst in the world.

He was not asked very often. Not his fault, bad promoters.

Samoans tend to have big families. Alex is also a very religious man.

Is that the card on the 23rd mate? Some very good, evenly matched fights on it.

It's true. He gave up the grog and drugs and started shagging for Jesus.

I know mate, im Samoan. :DD

Most Samoans are religious, they are taught young, every Sunday all Samoan families go to church. God is always first with anything Samoans do, hence why you hear Leapai or Tua praising God in Samoan before they make any comments after a fight.

I read somewhere about Leapai giving up the drugs and grog, turning to God and doing boxing, or was it a video?

Have a look at Alex's career very early, you will notice a a year and a half gap between his fight, there's a reason why he found god.

Not asked very often, true, and I've long been a sympathiser of how he was handled, but when he did fight world class opposition, let's take a look at whether he beat them "nearly every time".

Peter Okhello w ko 3
Danny Williams l ko 1
Damon Reed w tko 6
Lamon Brewster l pts 12
Hasim Rahman l ko 4
DaVarryl Williamson w ko 6
Ruslan Chagaev l pts 12
Evans Quinn w pts 12

Note I'm being incredibly generous in calling Okhello, Reed and Quinn world class, but included them because they'd fought for world titles. With them, Meehan is 4-4 in world class. Without them, he's 1-4.

Eight puts Alex in the same league as Hoppa!

When Alex gives boxing away, he could easily live off Family Allowance!

Since when is stating a fact racist?

Fact: I, Oliver Fennell, once met a Samoan citizen who told me he was 19 years old and had seven children.
