If you call yourself a world champion then you should not fight patsies in title defences. If ya wanna keep busy then have a non title fight. Don't give the "doing something for the fans", "its a homecoming fight", "its boxing back at the RAH" lines to justify crap opponents.Casio wrote:What were you expecting?? To be honest im not interested in winning or losing an argument - i'd much prefer Clev had a decent opponent coming up and we weren't even having this polite debate.
The guy is a decent operator, gives entertainment (against challenges, not journeymen) and is going backwards not forwards in comparison to the other British fighters out there.
He fought 3 weeks ago and is now scheduled to fight in 5.....i cannot understand why people were expecting a big name. its a keep busy fight. its far from ideal but what can you do??
Sometimes i think the worst thing that happened was for Cleverly to win a 'World' title.
