It's pretty well established that McClellan was a real piece of shit. You may argue that he didn't deserve what happened to him but if it had to happen to a guy..
There are people out there who would argue for Hitler if he were a crippled boxer.

McClellan makes me absolutely sick. I can only laugh at people who defend him --- not because they are, but because they invariably evoke morality. Its too absurd for words.

What happened to McClellan, all told, was plenty fair. Its an unjust world, as we're fond of saying, but sometimes we do indeed reap what we sow.

To say McClellan deserves his disabled condition that he received that night with references to Hitler and quotes from the bible is about as misled and confused a statement as one could surely want to read: which by the way I don't.

So dont. Whos holding your head to the screen?

I dont care to read posts sympathetic to McClellan, either.

I'll value a dogs life over someone like McClellan any day of the week.

Did anybody here mentioned the Foreman vs Frazier I fight when Ali's trainer, the late Angelo Dundee, was screaming: "Stop the fight", "Stop it". You could hear it in the midst of all that what was happening to Smoking Joe.

For me I reckon.

Manny Pacquiao v Antonio Margarito. Margarito took an utterly horrific beating in there probably one of the worst ever the only thing that was holding Margarito was his machismo and really should been stopped by the tenth round when it was clear to everyone who was watching it baring Lawrence Cole and Roberto Garcia that Margarito was getting his arse handed to him on a plate with all the trimmings by Pacquiao.

Vitali K v Shannon Briggs. Again the referee Britain's Ian John Lewis and Brigg's corner should have stopped in the 10th when they could clear see that Vitali K was practically getting through with everything that he was throwing in Brigg's direction.

Roy Jones v Richard Hall was horrific onesided as well I watched that on Youtube and Larry Merchant said that Wayne Kelly should be pistolwhipped for failing to stop the fight much earlier than the 11th round and could also hear Lampley implauling Kelly to stop it as well.

Another Pacquiao fight --- Barrera (2003). Lampley was right when he said, "they could have done that two rounds ago," in relation to Barrera's corner stopping the bout. After eight or nine rounds, enough was enough.

McClellan wasnt going to be an all-timer, dude. His absurd whiskers and even absurder punch were off-set by major defensive deficits and a low ring IQ, as well as suspect endurance.

We were robbed of a very exciting guy who wouldve given us a lot of thrills, but someone like Jones or Moorer would have embarrassed him (in different ways).

STOP THE FIGHT!

I'm going to have to go with Joe Frazier vs Jerry Quarry II in 1974.

Quarry took massive punishment from "Smokin Joe" throughout Round 4 and Round 5... The fight should have been stopped sooner because Quarry was a bloody mess and he was having problems breathing...

Surpised that a man with the experience inside the ring that Joe Louis (who was the Ref) had did not stop the fight sooner...
