Re: Eubank Sr on Herol Graham sparring KO story (!)
I've read jonny nelsons autobiography,( long road to glory, or somethin similiar) and does say in it that Eubank did indeed drop Graham, he says after getting outboxed Eubank watched Graham for over week then volunteered to spar with him, thus introducing him to the canvas.
I don't think this clears it up, Nelson was Grahams friend and trained alongside him which indicates he would have no reason to lie or comply with information that shines a none to flattering light on his good pal, however later in the book Nelson expresses disapoitment when Graham accused him of taking money, so it could the Nelsons little stab back

Never heard that but have heard Eastman gave Eubank hassle sparring and, maybe completely fabricated, but heard rumblings Eastman dropped Collins in sparring and caused the injury.Tommy Gunn13 wrote:I always thought it was a Novice Howard Eastman who knocked Herol Graham out in sparring??
Perhaps im confused&getting fighters mixed up...
Again, take that as you will. Only Chinese whispers I've heard down the years.

Re: Eubank Sr on Herol Graham sparring KO story (!)
You've obviously read Eubank's autobiography where he agreed to sign for Hearn in Sheffield in 1989. You choose to ignore the bits about only returning to the UK in 1988 and "working with the superb boxer Herol Graham" when his partner was pregnant with Christopher in 1989.coghaugen11 wrote:To be fair to Greg N, Ingle did say he was paying Eubank "£300 every week" to spar with him because they couldn't find sparring partners for Herol! I do believe this was significantly prior to Eubank's coming-out party against Logan ('86? I don't know).
But it's also known Eubank was in Sheffield briefly in '89 to watch the World Snooker Championships (where he met Barry Hearn), so maybe he did some work with Graham and Nelson while he was up there. In fact, I think he did.

Eubank also says in his book that he travelled back and forth between UK and US in 1986-87. And he sparred Rod Douglas in June '87 in London.
Re: Eubank Sr on Herol Graham sparring KO story (!)
If Herol was down for more than 10 seconds, Nelson could view that as a knockout. Both Graham and Eubank said that they boxed on, afterwards. He wasn't sparked (or only momentarily), but the knockdown may have been enough to have an official fight stopped. This would be consistent with what all 3 men saybennythekid wrote:I've read jonny nelsons autobiography,( long road to glory, or somethin similiar) and does say in it that Eubank did indeed drop Graham, he says after getting outboxed Eubank watched Graham for over week then volunteered to spar with him, thus introducing him to the canvas.

Not true. The only mention of Rod Douglas is about his injury on page 166.coghaugen11 wrote:Eubank also says in his book that he travelled back and forth between UK and US in 1986-87. And he sparred Rod Douglas in June '87 in London.
Your posts suggest you are obsessed with Eubank. He said in his book he worked with Graham in 1989 - I have already said I was lucky to have seen 2 of the sessions. I remember a lot of it very clearly - I sat and spoke with Eubank. You are clearly not interested in this and choose to continue to spread falsehoods. Very strange.
I'm out of here.

On YouTube and numerous sources including Eric Guy, Eubank and Douglas sparred at the old Lonsdale Gym in '87.
According to Eubank and Graham themselves, they sparred in '86 (and '89).

In the book "Chris Eubank The Autobiography" the index has one reference for Rod Douglas on page 166 relating to his injury. Maybe you have a different edition, but it still does not relate to Herol Graham who Eubank refers to as a superb boxer who he spent some time with in 1989.coghaugen11 wrote:Yes it is, do you want me to physically scan the page for you!? People did see Eubank floor Graham in the midst of receiving a boxing lesson in 1989.
In October 1986 Eubank was studying at SOBRO College of Technology in the South Bronx. He mentions working in various jobs and in the next 18 months returning to the UK and shoplifting. No mention of paid work with Herol Graham as you and your sidekick "Greg Nicholas" (who also exclusively posts on Eubank) have claimed.
Later in the book Eubank speaks of his relief that Graham was never made his mandatory saying : "You couldn't hit him - he was so elusive.... he was a grandmaster". No mention of flooring him twice as a four fight novice.
I'm out of this thread now but may I wish you Good Luck in whatever agenda you and Greg Nicholas are trying to push.

Re: Eubank Sr on Herol Graham sparring KO story (!)
At certain points in Eubank's book, he mentions returning home in the summer of 1986 and travelling back and forth between London, Brighton and New York from mid-86 to mid-89. I'm not sad enough to take the book out from the local library and scan the pages for you. At other points in the book, Eubank says he only spent 'three and and half years straight' in New York and went there first in late '82 - do the maths. There was even a photo of him on a train 'from Brighton to London .. during the period 1986-87'. It's all there.
Regarding Douglas, numerous sources claim he and Eubank sparred before Douglas turned pro, at the old Lonsdale Gym in London. Including respected, reliable ERIC GUY from this site. I personally saw Eubank sparring with Keith Bristol above a pub in Stratham in the summer of '87 - so I know he was not in New York at this time.

You're quoting form a book that you haven't even got! I have the book in front of me:
"In the summer of 1986 I graduated from Morris High...Immediately after graduation, I began a course at SOBRO College of Technology In the South Bronx. I was on a course for 6 months learning on a Wang word processor....."
As I've told you many times he didn't spar with Graham until 1989 - and he didn't floor him twice.
As for him sparring Douglas, I couldn't care less - you said it was in Eubank's book and you would scan it - it's not in. Is it the same reliable ERIC GUY who ridiculed me on here for saying Graham sparred Roberto Duran?

When did I say it was in Eubank's book that he sparred Douglas?
You can pick and choose which bits to quote all you like mate. But fact is in Eubank's own book he claims that he travelled back and forth between UK and NY in 1986-87, as you well know and see. Eubank himself and Graham himself both claim they sparred in '86. I take their word over yours
