Wood KOed Mundine in the first fight. Mundine won the second fight on points.
Garth was knocked down in the ninth and tenth rounds but not knocked out.

Oh well, just as i thought anyhow, maybe we can drop the notion of Chauncy fighting old hags and bullshitting his way to a shot, and we can get some tasty matchups locally.

funny how a leapai fight had nothing to offer chauncy, and the money was far too low.
wonder how much lower alex's next offer to chauncy will be?

Kronk and I think Chauncy too were making noise about how Leapai would have to slowly rebuild after his loss. Made a big deal of it. Not long after and bang the shoe is on the other foot. Karma can be a bitch

I haven't been ducking anything or anyone, just like Chauncy.
FYI I had a tooth emergency lay me up for a bit and I have been hotel living it while working massive hours on the road. And I have still been on the mission the entire time. I'm currently working in Mt. Pleasant and next week I'll be touring the Soaring Eagle Resort and Casino. In my WelliverMania / Chauncy For POTUS T shirts. And I will get some answers before next week is out. Namely to the question of, what in the hell is taking you so long to book Chauncy Welliver for a main event HW showdown?
As for Leapai, I will float his name as a possible opponent.....oh yeah, I forgot he doesn't fight on the road. AT ALL.
Long Live The Road Warrior Welliver! Still the #1 HW in all of Aisastralia

Karma is queen buddy. You lack the wisdom to be able to accurately interpret the force.
4 years ago Chauncy Welliver was a humble HW journeyman overachiever after his Solis loss. He was a nice guy who didn't even realize how tough he was. He says that the Solis loss performance was the turn around but that is somewhat inaccurate. We had him on for an interview on the 2nd episode of On The Ropes Boxing Radio in December of 08. Jenna asked him what it was like to be a journeyman fighter who goes on so many little shows and he answers that he loves it, being a big fish in a small pond. He also says that he realizes what he is, that he will never fight a Valuev in Switzerland, that he will never fight for a HW Title, etc. etc. Greg Haugen also comes on that show and reams him out for not training his arse off to see what he can really be in the HW Division. He trained Chauncy for a short while and he told him he could be a force in the division if he went for it.
After that, Chauncy goes over to see Roland with his gf just to visit. One thing leads to another and they get inspired to help one another out. And then Joe Hipp comes in to be the tripod of the whole deal.
After a shit load of hard work with them, everything changed and Chauncy is on TV and everywhere saying he can and will become HW Champion of the world. All that weight went off and stayed off. And the winning streak and rise towards the top went all the way up to #5 and #7 with the WBC and WBO. He toured the world baby and he main evented some big cards. Even his current loss was by a hair and he is negotiating with Tank to try to get revenge.....in the Bahamas! 115-113 twice and 114-114. Boxrec corrected that shit from the disinformation they were spreading with that wide card crap.
Back then, Chauncy was just a 300 or so ranked HW with enough time and goodness to help some fans create some radio shows and give them as much time as they wanted. Today he is a fairly well known HW and he still has a very good chance to win some big fights and be a guy there to capitalize on the Klits retiring. Karma is Queen.
And here is our gal's newest radio show....featuring none other than Emanuel Steward and Roy Jones Jr. Episode 173.

If you think I've been a failure or should feel like one, as a fanatic, you must be a few sandwiches short of a full platter. My namesake inspiration here and Chauncy still work with that woman all the time. Manny put out his JCC jr. stuff to Geoff Ciani and it was one of the best boxing articles of the last decade. I hooked them up with him myself. And Chauncy was the original contact man for the show. And his rise towards the top was every bit as epic as hers. Parallel rises to the top. A 19 year old anonymous girl from Boston, and a 25 year old overweight HW from Spokane. I bought them both as low as you can buy them, Chauncy and I were even talking 3 years or so before the Solis fight. Chauncy went to #5 in the world man. She has 1 of the best boxing shows in the world. I know wtf I am talking about when I back a dark horse. That is all that has been proved here.
And for Chauncy on a finishing note. He returned home from his loss in China to score the biggest win of his life. He asked his gf to marry him and she said yes! He didn't slip into depression, he slipped a big diamond ring on his gals finger.
Remember this lesson InsaneTrain. Karma is Queen, just like Chauncy's mom. And he fought Solis with no training to buy her a house. All his successes are his just due.

Kronk is nessacary, and bat shit crazy, i read the forst 6 lines and then posted.
Chauncy fighting in the Bahama's.... FFS, what about Australia, he's been down this way for years, beaten up on punch drunk Kiwi's and playing the role of "Not so COW"( Anyone seen Kickboxer) in China. Still no fight against anyone of note in this region, so how the hell is he the best, i would rank him around 6 at this stage.

surely nobody read past the first line, pmsl.
whats the point of being a road warrior if u r gunna fight bums?
if chauncy is such a big player etc. how come nobody down here has seen his fights?
theres been many ozzy fox cards he could have used to showcase his ability and gain fans who if impressed would want to watch him again. there is a huge audience in oz, and its only a short flight from nz.

This is so true, Why has he not fought in Australia, and who gives a flying F..k about China, theres fights here, he knows it, nothing to do with money, ranking or any other excuse. The reality is that the market opens up even more for this road warrior if he beats some of Australia's best( Good business sense in any language). So lets see it happen, start of with Solo, Chauncy, i actually have you winning this one, then fight De Mori or Leapai, shit even ol Meehan.

I have to ask, Did Chauncy knock back a fight in China with Mark de Mori to fight Kyotaro Fujimoto who's is 4-0?

.

I think Fujimoto is a legit fight for Chauncy, regardless of records. Any fighter would love to fight a big name Japanese fighter in their own country for the experience if nothing else.
I think Chauncy has bitten off more than he can chew with this one though if the last outing was anything to go by.
Wish him all the best but think he is in for a bad night again sorry to say.

Fujimoto has only had four fights. A long name is not necessarily a big name. Toshiaki Nishioka is a big Japanese name, he holds the WBC World Super Bantamweight title.
Japan is not famous for heavyweights.

Either is Australia, but pretty sure Barry Hall would pull a crowd in his debut.
Point being, Japan loves it's fighters and fighting in general. I would think Fujimoto would pull a crowd regardless of his boxing stats if he was an past K1 champ.

Be serious. Fujimoto is rated about 230 in the world.

No.
Had a fight scheduled then decided he wasn't putting 100% towards it so pulled out last minute.
Cause a bit of a stir, but I liked the fact that he admitted he wasn't commited and didn't just go out and rack up a few paydays as I am sure he could have.
It was the biggest news in Aussie HW boxing for years, sadly.

Bazza only showed his public punching prowess on the AFL field and did not pursue a ring career despite a burst of initial publicity.
Chauncey will have to take his chances by going for a KO in the land of the rising sun, as that is the only way he will get the nod as he will be up against the ref, judges and a hostile local crowd.

I guess it's a no-brainer taking the fight he'll be getting paid over the odds for an 8 rounder, and I guess with Sonny boy Williams playing overthere soon it'll be an even better possible payday against another novice (with the added ppv back in N.Z and Aussie aswell.)
