I like your man Billy. However every fighter that hasn't been able to really hurt Mitchell has ended up losing.

If Mitchell can walk through Burns' shots, then your man will have to do well to withstand Kevin's power.

To be fair, Mitchell has not exactly faced a murderers row of opponents has he? Murray was a good win, Katsidis bashed him up and a past it Johanneson almost took him out.

Burns brings different problems to those guys anyway. He doesn't rely on power.

If it happens I will certainly be looking forward to it.

I'd be inclined to agree mitchells the number 2 and Rees is number 3 Burns appears to be some levels above them in terms of class, when there are nuts who beleive they saw mitchel school burns in sparring you cant really take them seriously. My opinion of this fight is its a perfect platform for burns to put on another masterclass and get some much deserved kudos.

I cant see how mitchell can beat him.

Billy Nelson: You really let yourself down by the way you post on here. Why are you so argumentative to the point of border line abusive and rude in replying to someones posts? Ricky Burns comes across as a nice bloke, is a class boxer and has big backing and am sure many wish him well but they way you come across can easily put people off and could actually get more satisfaction of seeing him lose so to bring you down a peg or two. You'd get a lot more respect as a Trainer/Coach if you didn't go on about what 'happened' in sparring sessions,(as we all know, a spar can be very different than the event) and also by discrediting Mitchell to the point of not giving him any respect is wrong...and not wise. What would happen if the 'unthinkable to you' happened and Mitchell won? Would you look back at these posts by yourself and cringe? Sometimes its better to be humble and go about your business. You show too much emotion...

Des 1 this is were you need to get your facts right mate,ive had reporters calling me after they sparred saying a member of Tean Mitchell said Kevin handled Ricky easily,well im sorry when your close to someone like me and Ricky are and know the hard hard work he puts in and people are talking shit then yes im going to defend him all the way,sorry for being loyal i know its not great in our sport

Come off it mate, it was a year after he beat Burns so how past it could he have been? I was there, it was a pick'em with Mitchell a slight favourite but Carl was a very live opponent who fancied his chances. Mitchell took a lot more shots than he needed to, but I think that was becuase he'd been used to walking through punches after years treading water against inadequate opposition.

Have to say I've enjoyed my exchanges with Billy. Yes he is loyal his fighters and true to what he believes, as are we. What I like about Billy is that whether or not he agrees with you, he'll give his point and listen to yours. I think Burns is favourite and I think that my opinion of Mitchell is higher than Billys, but I don't think he's been disrespectful, just honest to what he thinks. Putting it bluntly, a lot of us thought he was a mentalist with some of the stuff he's come out with before Burns fights over the last couple of years, but Billy's still here, laughing, defending his corner, and yet to be proved wrong. Credit where its due...

Whilst it is always interesting to find out, I am one that likes to keep to the phrase what happens in sparring stays in sparring.

Billy, I like your posts and like your passion / loyality for your fighters. However, by saying that Mitchell was "badly outclassed" in sparring doesn't do a good job to sell the fight. If/when Burns' wins he will maybe not get the credit he deserves because he only beat a fighter he was beating up years ago.

I agree with a lot of your points, but you should also be honest and transparent that you're affiliated in some way to Mitchell. Not being explicit about that here is a bit disingenuous.

If you look up some posts I put up about Kevin last year before the Murray fight, everyone was saying he didn't have a chance in hell. I think I was the only one that thought he'd beat John. that makes 2 of you and one of you had to make up they went to a non existent sparring session where mitchell won.

At the end of the day, its a very, very good fight. Much more visually pleasing than Haye v Chisora.

I'm a bit disappointed that it wasn't announced today.

If it does get announced, I'm having a score on Mitchell to knock Burns out in the 8th. He hits very hard for a lightweight, and I think he dances better than Burns too.
