mayweather and his team - disgrace
Re: mayweather and his team - disgrace
Some of the comments on here are disgraceful. Harsh? He raised his fists to a woman, one of the most cowardly things a man can do. Let alone a man who is professionally trained to punch people and happens to be the best in the world at doing so. Some people obviously haven't been around, or been affected by, domestic violence. In my opinion what is unjust is the fact that he only got 90 days.
Re: mayweather and his team - disgrace
Firstly i will start by saying that im a mayweather fan but i dont agree with people who think he should be treated any differently from other "normal" people.
If i commit a crime, mayweather commits a crime or the fuc**ng president commits a crime then everyone should be treated the same. I know its not how it works but it should be.
Ive also heard people saying he might not be able to fight again due to not having ate enough etc and losing weight, although id personally be gutted if he didnt again i dont see it as a valid reason to amend how he is treated in prison or the wherabouts or length of his sentence.
If i went to jail today, id lose my job, id struggle to get one similar when i got out and i wouldnt have the comfort of millions in the bank to dip into. Again why should he be treated any differently?
One thing i do agree with, if i had a 1% chance of getting out, id take it.
If you were guilty or not and had a slight chance to get out of there for any pathetic reason you also would take it, who wouldnt? So i wouldnt hold that against him.

Re: mayweather and his team - disgrace
Not only this, but he was sentenced in December and allowed to remain free so he could make tens of millions against Cotto! Staggering.

Women who are beaten by their boxer husbands need to step up
Re: mayweather and his team - disgrace
Again, i wouldnt use that as something to judge my opinion of mayweather.dondada wrote:Not only this, but he was sentenced in December and allowed to remain free so he could make tens of millions against Cotto! Staggering.
Its more worrying that people making the decisions think thats a valid enough reason.
Mayweather like any other human would do anything in his power to avoid jail time.
Re: mayweather and his team - disgrace
Maybe, but I wouldn't say like any other human. I'd say there might be some who would recognise that beating on their wife in front of their kids is bad and that maybe the best course of action (especially for someone in the public eye) would be to do their porridge quietly and not complain as if they are the victim. If you've a legit complaint, then make it through the proper channels, not the media. Threatening not to fight again unless he gets his own way doesn't do his pr any favours, i'm sure there won't be protests in the street and this possible outcomeEmmseegee wrote:Again, i wouldnt use that as something to judge my opinion of mayweather.dondada wrote:Not only this, but he was sentenced in December and allowed to remain free so he could make tens of millions against Cotto! I can't say I wouldn't try the same thing in his position but I hope he fornicating stays there for the sentence. He's better off there than he would be in general pop. It's not like he's in the 'hole' in the old movies. He's get a cell to himself, a bed to himself and a crapper to himself and he's allowed all the normal 'luxuries' that you'd be allowed in general pop.
At least this confirms what a plastic gangster he's always been, not that there was ever any doubt.

Re: mayweather and his team - disgrace
I found the article hilarious. Tap water only, no bottled water. Not exactly cruel & unusual punishment.
I'm surprised there has been any serious debate here about it.
To Horse: As i don't think photographic evidence of his ex's injuries are in the public domain i'd suggest just imagining that he gave her the type of beating that you'd consider suitable for a professional boxer who did the same to your mother/sister/girlfriend etc to lose his freedom for 12 weeks. As has been pointed out he was allowed to postpone his sentence for months so he could make 10's of millions & it was a plea bargain so it the least he could probably get so don't shed too many tears.
There is no way they will let Mayweather into the general population as if genuine bad men get hold of him or Big Leroy makes him his bride then Nevada will get sued into oblivion.

Big bad Leroy, now that had me crying laughing it really did, I'll be totally honest I lost all respect for the justice system the day I saw child killers walk free! An when I see convicted paediphiles being allowed to walk the streets! The justice system one of the most f****d up things on the planet IMHO..Shirow wrote:I found the article hilarious. I don't go around the forum attempting to bully people like you do. You should be ashamed of yourself.Deserter wrote:But it's just my humble opinion Horse. Are you always so intolerant of other people's opinions?

Because, as has been noticed by a few people, you're a troll - so this type of attention makes you happy.Horse wrote:Then why am I smiling?Deserter wrote:You're a sad individual.

I am not a troll. I just have a few opinions that others don't like.dondada wrote:Because, as has been noticed by a few people, you're a troll - so this type of attention makes you happy.
Just because a person doesn't conform to the majority view on a subject, it does not mean that they are a troll.

1) Use of the plural in terms of 'people'. Who else do I 'bully' on the forum as in nearly nine years I've never been accused of it before?
2) You seem to think bullying is wrong and say I should be ashamed, yet have spent your time on this thread doing your utmost to trivialise woman-beating, which is surely the biggest form of bullying there is? Smells like hypocrisy to me... or do we decide that you're actually not a 'victim' of my 'bullying' as you haven't provided any proof of injury?
Horse, whatever your faults, you're not a stupid man, so it amazes me that you're unable to grasp from the fact that you manage to alienate so many people that you have an attitude problem.
Don't try and blame it on having a difference of opinion as that's a complete red herring - every day there are posters who have differences of opinion on here yet manage to retain a healthy respect for one another. You, by contrast, have come to be regarded as a troll by a significant number of posters. That alone should tell you something.

I said I think Mayweather should have received community service. That would be his punishment for his bullying.Deserter wrote:2) You seem to think bullying is wrong and say I should be ashamed, yet have spent your time on this thread doing your utmost to trivialise woman-beating, which is surely the biggest form of bullying there is? I don't think you should receive any punishment for your bullying, I think you should just stop doing it. I don't think my viewpoint is hypocritical.
That is just who I am. I don't think I behaved inappropriately in this thread. Why should I change?Deserter wrote:Horse, whatever your faults, you're not a stupid man, so it amazes me that you're unable to grasp from the fact that you manage to alienate so many people that you have an attitude problem.

"It's not fair to label me as anything when you don't know me personally. I have not made a personal attack on you, yet you do so to me because of my opinions, which are genuine. I have not trivialised women-beating, I just do not believe that the accounts we receive should be emotionally responded to without knowing all the facts. The seriousness of the crime/allegation has no bearing unless it has been proved to me."
& then we respond with "Well how can you know anything if it's got to be proved explicitly" & he'll come up with something else & on & on & on & on until we all go fvcking blind. Someone'll point out the pudendum only ever posts in threads/on topics which have an emotive or ethical component, & that he always takes a cuntish stance on everything under the sun, & we go on playing his stupid fvcking game ad infinitum as if you're talking to a human being rather than the organic equivalent of one of those "press one to be patronised by a recorded message" voice-mail things set to "I'm a pudendum".
Or, you could put him on "Ignore".
EDIT: Oh, he beat me to it. Can someone tell me if I was near the mark with my impression, please?
Re: mayweather and his team - disgrace
Interesting.. so facts and reality don't matter then? You seem to want evidence in the Mayweather case, yet with me, in the absence of any proof, you're happy to accuse me of bullying. Yet more hypocrisy.Horse wrote:Usually if a person is willing to bully one person then they are willing to do it to others.Deserter wrote:Interesting on two points:

Nobody is demanding that you change. What I and others are saying is that given the manner and tone of your posts you shouldn't be remotely surprised that you provoke so many adverse reactions. Many regard you as a troll. If you don't want that perception of you, you need to change. If you're comfortable with it, keep on doing what you're doing. What is utterly pointless is complaining about it.Horse wrote:Why should I change?
