If it weren't for being contracted to The Super Six, i bet we would have had a few more of these sorts of defences in Nottingham. Fair play to him for the opponents he faced, but he had little option to be honest and then as soon as it was over he was no longer a champion. This is a Calzaghe style hometown defence!

Oosthuizen, Stevenson and Pavlik are all better than Tocker Pudwill and Evans Ashira, so they aren't Calzaghe style home defenses at all, they are just top 10-15 Super middleweights rather than top 5.

I agree with that mate, I think at the time Froch had no choice but to fight the elite fighters in the division as he had Hennessy as his promoter which wasnt doing him much good lets be honest and also he didnt have a big name like Khan and could sell out arenas with sub standard opposition! Now he has matchroom promoting him and he's fought a lot of top guys and he has somewhat of a bigger name and can sell more tickets he's gonna try and fight softer opposition! I hope not though.
