I just saw Stoker vs the guy from India. Disgraceful scoring. How did Stoker win the 2nd round????? How was it 16 -9 after 2 rounds???? Well I guess this is typical boxing...... It dosent matter what level it is cheats will be there!

Yep, Jon - getting sick of it now. I do think the judges will favour GB boxers at times being the home nation but people are over-compensating now.

So what's the reason for dodgy scoring in the amateurs? I get the whole thing in the pro ranks of promoters trying protect their investment and getting favourable treatment for the home fighter. How does it come about in the Olympics?

Of course they will favour them for one every time a punch lands or misses for a GB guy theres a roar that cant be just ignored specialy on a reflex thing like computer scoring.
It becomes the popular thing to knock something but its a fact that the home nation will get an advantage it happens every time. Rather than being on the end of dubious decisions GB are enjoying a few i dont agree with the ludicrous ones but where its dam close and it could go either way too right im hoping the ref and judges are favouring our guy.

Well said Jon. Although I did think Joshua was very fortunate but look forward to seeing him progress through the next rounds.
My main gripe is the constant breaks in action that you get in amateur boxing but seems to be multiplied in the games, just wish they would allow the referees to let the action flow more.

Was there last night at the Stalker fight. I can't see any controversy; he couldn't miss with the straight left for the first two rounds and Manoj only really got to him in the last round, albeit not enough to make up for the first two rounds spent getting picked off at range. Rubbish controversy, this is just an overreaction by the Indian team to having their other boxer's victory overturned.

I get the uneasy feeling that somewhere along the line a deserving Brit will get a decision given against him in order to 'make up for it'

1928-A host of awful decisions apparently lead to brawls in the crowd

1936-A scoring miscalculation saw Thomas Hamilton-Brown "lose" a fight he won, Thomas went on an eating binge and failed to make weight when the result was reversed

1984-Evander Holyfields's DQ, a number of controversial decisions favoured the US including one over South Korean Kim Dong-Kil which may have "planted" the seeds of what was to come 4 years later and Francisco Damiani getting "beaten" by an American in the final

1988-Roy Jones gets shafted in Korea

2008-A number of favourable decisions for Chinese boxers (including the eventual Gold medal winners Zou Shiming and Zhang Xiaoping)

Think that's way too strong; there are lots of people give their time freely and love the sport, they're not in it for fame or reward and the very vast majority wouldn't be bought for all the tea in China. There are bad decisions and there are corrupt officails, they are in the minority and I don't think there is a massive conspiracy; I don't think amateur judging is much worse than some of the pro judges.

Judges receiving gifts and funds into accounts before the Roy Jones jr robbery, home town decisions at every competition, no transparency over Investigations, how many fighters have been robbed after falling out with their governing body ? Get real will you, we would all like to believe the sport we love is fair, but with so much money and fame on the line, human nature takes over.

Heh Luke Campbell almost got shafted, I'd be very worried if I was a Brit and I'm fighting tomorrow...

Luke Campbell won it a lot easier then the judges scored, what is wrong with the judges at this Olympics, it seems like every fighter that is tired and hanging on for dear life wins the rounds, you don't know what is going to happen next, the Algerian beat the Japanese as well.
