As much as he was a crazy man, Tyson had a helluva chin. Never down until the Douglas fight (and after a horrific beating). And he took bomb after bomb from Lewis before finally going down (well past prime, it should be noted). (I think Lennox would've always beaten Tyson.) Iron Mike had an iron chin.

I think Jung-Koo Chang had a great chin, also. Never down v. German Torres in three fights, Chiquita (while past-prime), and Chitalada twice. He was finally stopped in his last fight (at flyweight) by a very hard puncher in Kittikasem. (Come to think of it, he might have been KD'd in Torres II, though it wasn't called. Can't quite recall.)
Anyway, given the hard punchers he faced, light a weight though it was, The Korean Hawk deserves a mention.

How could I have forgotten Finito?
50+ fights and down only once briefly v. hard puncher Alvarez. Then fought overweight Alvarez, got hit plenty but never dropped again (or KO'd, obviously). Faced plenty of hard punchers at minimumweight, such as Tabanas, Villamor, and especially Sorjaturong, whom Lopez absolutely destroyed. Great skills sans a chin will cost you. Just ask Hearns and Norris. Yet another one of Finito's great attributes, though it doesn't get mentioned as much because of his other brilliant qualities.

Here's an obscure one: Gerald Hayes.
Some of the people he went the distance with: Villasana, Laporte, Lockridge, Pintor, Chacon, Arguello.
The stoppage against Pedroza was BS. Pacheco even interviewed the ref after the fight; that's how absurd it was. I don't know what happened in Hayes's first TKO loss, which was in his 7th or so fight.
Great chin does not always equal great fighter.

Here's another obscure one (and with an awful record):
Marion Wilson.
He was only stopped once on cuts in 57 fights.
People he went the distance with included Maskaev, Thunder, T-Rex Sanders, McCall, Rahman, Golota, Ibeabuchi, and Briggs.
He also got screwed against Mercer, a fight that was declared a draw and that Wilson deserved to have won.
Pretty damn hard punchers there, I'd say.

What about Harold Brazier?
Stopped twice in 127 fights, one of which was in his last fight when he was almost 50.
I never saw the Bramble fight; why was that stopped? He took bombs from Mayweather. He did have a lot of soft fights.

Nice call. Scanned his record; only recognized Briggs. Looks like Lyle McDowell did quite a bit of record padding with Blake.

Jose Luis Ramirez.
Stopped by Olivares when he was a teenager (though I have never seen the fight). Went the distance with Arguello, Mancini, Rosario (and he then beat Rosario), Chavez (technical decision, I know) and even Coggi, a hard puncher at jr. welter. 111-fight career to boot.

Here's another kind of obscure one:
Jun-Suk Hwang--the only other guy to take Curry the distance in a welter title fight. He took massive punishment. I never saw his TKO loss, but he also went the distance with In Chul Beak, a hard puncher who won a super middle belt.

How about Ben Villaflor. Never KO'd in over 60 fights; super feather champ. Haven't seen much of him; was he ever down?

Randy Shields.
Went 12 with Hearns (stopped in the corner) and 15 with Cuevas. Neither could put him down.
'nuff said.

Er ... going back a few years, but how about Eder Jofre, the Brazilian bantamweight and featherweight champion of the 60s and 70s? Won 72 (50 KOs), Lost 2, Drew 4. Never on the canvas throughout his career.

Injin Chi and Marcos Villasana both had seriously good chins from what I saw of them

Don't know if I'd throw Chi in there. Espadas and Ayala also went the distance (without going down) v. Morales at feather. Erik, great fighter though he is, isn't a huge puncher past 122.

I think Wayne McCulluogh would qualify. That man could take a punch. I saw Larios stop him but even in that fight Wayne took all of them damn well and he just seemed to be old and outclassed. He fought some good punchers as well. Ricardo Mayorga is the only person I have seen let people land their sunday punches in successive fights. As for Mayorga...stupid strategy v. Tito, Oscar, and Mosley.

Chicagos Randy Smith had a great chin. Fought all the best middleweights in the world in the eighties and nineties. Hopkins,Nunn,Tate,Eubank,McCallum etc. Never stopped. Used to spar with him a lot and he was slick. Anytime i could ever get one through, which wasn't all that often, he would hoot and laugh. very disconcerting.
