Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
this fight will probably go two ways, one could see enzo landing a ud having to climb off the canvas or two winning on points untill mckenzie sparks him out around the fourth or fifth round, i know enzo has a family to support but what use is he to them if he suffers a terrible injury in the ring enzo should of retired after the haye fight.

Enzo is the puncher in this fight. By far
Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
Disagree that he should have retired after the Haye fight but he should certainly have retired after both the Lebedev and Frenkel fights.dan28uk wrote:this fight will probably go two ways, one could see enzo landing a ud having to climb off the canvas or two winning on points untill mckenzie sparks him out around the fourth or fifth round, i know enzo has a family to support but what use is he to them if he suffers a terrible injury in the ring enzo should of retired after the haye fight.
Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
Enzo hasn't knocked out anyone remotely tough since Haye beat him.
Every opponent he's beaten has been very poor.
He was iced by Afolabi and hammered inside a couple by Lebedev.... and pretty much one punched by Frenkel too.
Given that McPhilbin is relatively inexperienced and took 12 rounds to get rid of the awfully bad Leon Williams, yet to all intents and purposes did Enzo inside a round, I think that this is potentially a very dangerous assignment for big Enz, considering he's cutting down to 175 too.
Ovil is a naturally big LHW and is your typical, pretty limited, domestic banger, with a decent chin to boot.
I think this will end early.

Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
Anyone expecting a good price betting wise on McKenzie can pretty much say goodbye to it.
The bookies don't seem to have a specific odds compiler for boxing anymore and I know they read the forums and message boards to get a rough idea of how to price a fight up.
After reading this thread McKenzie will probably open up around a 4/6 shot where he would have been 7/4 ish if they had no info.

Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
I'd take 4/6 for Ovil by stoppage, in all honesty.
If he's around that mark for win only I'll pile on.

Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
McKenzie will be at least a 2/7 or 1/4 shot in my book, dont think the bookies will have had Enzo fav not after Macca's last fight.Hagler2002 wrote:Anyone expecting a good price betting wise on McKenzie can pretty much say goodbye to it.

If there had been a timekeeper who knew what he was doing his last result would have read L RSF1 without doubt, there is no way they could make him fav surely.
If they go up 4/6 they will get slaughtered, Enzo did not seem to even be able to throw a shot last time, I don't dispute if the old Enzo hits McKenzie on the button early doors it would be good night
but he just seemed to be devoid of any of his old self last time.

You honestly think the bookies solely base their prices on message forums?!Hagler2002 wrote:Anyone expecting a good price betting wise on McKenzie can pretty much say goodbye to it.

Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
Shout Hagler, McKenzie opened at 1/2 and Enzo is already been backed from 6/4 to 11/8 - Sportingbet only ones up at present. McKenzie now 8/15 and Enzo at 11/8.
Got to take the 8/15 on there last performances but perhaps there were reasons, someone clearly thinks so.

Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
Are there any prices for the McKenzie stoppage yet or for the fight not to go the distance?

Nothing else yet mateSteveDow wrote:Are there any prices for the McKenzie stoppage yet or for the fight not to go the distance?
Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
I've noticed that sportingbet's boxing prices are often wildly out of kilter with other bookmakers prices which means you can grab some real bargains if you get on early. That said, I'd rather be on McKenzie by stoppage than just to win as if it goes to points I quite fancy Enzo.

No but it goes a long way to how they price a fight they have no clue about.Wa1nuts wrote:You honestly think the bookies solely base their prices on message forums?!Hagler2002 wrote:Anyone expecting a good price betting wise on McKenzie can pretty much say goodbye to it.

No value in those odds yet. Looks like its best to see what the stoppage/points odds are.

Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
Betfred have opened up 4/9 McKenzie 7/4 Maccarinelli, still no method of victory market. I'm going to call into my local Betfred this afternoon and see if they'll give me a price over the counter.
Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
if the traders are afraid to price it up I hardly think the minimum wage counter staff in the shop are going to oblige you.Hagler2002 wrote:Betfred have opened up 4/9 McKenzie 7/4 Maccarinelli, still no method of victory market. They call through to HQ for you. Best way to get a price on anything is to go in the shopdomjon wrote:if the traders are afraid to price it up I hardly think the minimum wage counter staff in the shop are going to oblige you.Hagler2002 wrote:Betfred have opened up 4/9 McKenzie 7/4 Maccarinelli, still no method of victory market. At those odds hardly worth a punt on Mckenzie. Worth a few quid on Enzo don't forget Francis ko'd Mckenzie and he came up from 12st.GlobalBox wrote:4/6 McKenzie Ko with Sportingbet 7/4 Enzo Ko
Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
6/4 McKenzie 1-6 already been backed in from 13/8
Re: Ovill Mckenzie vs Enzo Maccarinelli
Olville wins by early Ko. Enzo has no chin at this level and never has had.
