Also, I'ld like to add me, and many many people I know, were huge Khan fans and supported him massively. He has tuened more and more in to a c u next Tuesday and I really loved seeing him getting sparked out, simply because he's a tosser!
If the hate was due to racism then why didn't Frank Bruno recieve the same hate? And he fought in a more racist time!

SOME of the hate towards him from certain people is based on his skin colour! SOME, SOME, SOME!!!!
I imagine a fair amount of it is based on him coming across as a pillock at times too!

Because Brook would win the fight it won't happen.
Also on the issue of "racism" of which I play no part whatsoever, I do find it difficult where Khan is concerned purely and simply because the worst racist activity I have ever seen at boxing in my 35 years of attending was caused by Khan fans.
Racism is not a white arrow on a pale blue background, it is a two way street.
Having said that I think the Khan hating is not driven by racism I just think the lad is poorly advised and for someone who has earned what he has earned, should have a slick PR team.
He needs leading and tutoring because he isn't a University graduate.
Most boxers struggle with it - just that some engage brain before speaking.

There is undoubtedly some racism towards Khan as I have witnessed it myself. But this is from mindless idiots who are generally racist towards anyone of another race.
I don't think the accusation can be leveled at the majority of boxing fans and I'd like to think any Boxrec member who dislikes Khan does so because of another reason other than his race.
If Khan fought at small hall shows I very much doubt you'd witness much, if any, racial abuse. This type of stuff only happens at arena/event type fights where general sport fans and groups of lads attend.
I hate it when someone is instantly branded as racist if they say they dislike Khan, the guy was loved during the Olympics in 2004, but he's managed to turn a lot of those people off.

Was he really loved tho during the olympics?? Obviously he was a very young lad. But how much of it was the BBC making it appear as if the whole nation had Khanmania? in retrospect this must be asked.
I know the amateur boxing community loved him back than, the casual sports fan may have been impressed by him. But the pro crowds who are often very different to the amateur code ones, were they ever in love with him? or were the small section of 40 something meathead shaven headed white van driving or benefits fiddling demographic who get routinely pissed at fights and support the BNP ever going to be able to educate themselves above seeing him as a paki b##tard?
The BBC has a history of contriving to make heroes....a mean this whole mobot BS crap. At least we know now a BBC tv presenter contrived it in a hope to make Mo Farah the british usain bolt. Is farah really loved by the general population the way the left wing BBC and left wing press like the independant make out? would anyone give a sshit about him on a housing estate in telford? or the local convenience store in Hull? or is just a London thing?
These are the questions which also apply to Khan

i like boxing and i like boxers according to their fighting style, their character, even their defects. im not gonny blindly support some guy i dont like just because hes british. and reading your previous post s i khnow for a fact you wouldnt get behind guys like alan minter or others who have made similar types of racist comment. kell brook is unbeaten and we will shortly see if he gets world titles, but he comes accross as ten times the human being that khan is. my money would be on brook to win the fight easily. i think even khan knows that too, which is why ,as 26 says, the fight will probably never happen....its more likely khan would fight rebecca brook.

This is turning into a political debate.
However I say it again.
The worst racism I have ever witnessed was at a Khan fight and it wasn't the "40 something meat head shaven blah blah" as you so eloquently put it that were dishing it out.
It was Khan's fans - aimed vociferously at the perfectly calm white people around them - including ladies and youngsters.

You can't tell me what I would and would not do, as a matter of fact I watched Minter through his career and supported him, even against Hagler I cheered him on, when he landed, I support fighters from the country where I was born and brought up, it's like saying that people born and bred here, but of foriegn origin would not support England at football, because there is racism in football, I guess ignorance is bliss.

Spot on mate.
Frank Bruno and Mike Tyson and Sugar Ray Leonard and Nigel Benn were loved over here too. It's got nothing to do with race. Just down to him being a c_nt!

It is because he is of Pakisani desent, Kel brook for me is no worse or better than Khan when he talks yet seems to be given a free pass yet has done next to nothing career wise compared to Khan.
I am sorry but there are fair bigger "tossers" out there that dont get the grief Khan gets and if you cant see that is due to his Pakisani desent then you are very naive.

There were a lot in Naseem's home town who were glad when he lost after some of his antics. Some friends of mine rejoiced after some of his previous comments about Pakistanis.
Kell Brook sells 10,000 tickets in Sheffield, Johnny Nelson was and is very popular and Herol Graham was like a god in Sheffield in the 80's. Skin colour?
Khan ran a cyclist over in his BMW, injured a pedestrian in his Range Rover, uses twitter to insult other boxers and alienates people frequently with his boastful claims. Skin colour?

You can cite whatever reasons you like for your dislike of him, I don't really care to be honest! I know of people that like to see him lose because he is, in their words, a p*ki. As I mentioned above, I have heard it at two shows the man was fighting on.
For that reason I think a certain amount of grief he gets, is based on his skin colour and his ethnicity. It's not the reason behind all the grief he gets but assuming you read my initial post correctly you would already know that.
Tyson Fury gets called a pikey 24/7, I'm apparently a potato loving lepracorn. Overseas... we're all tea drinking, butt-toothed, posh Englishmen. It's only cos he's Asain people make a deal about it. Coming from someone who was brought up in a very multi-cultural place, racism nowadays is in its minority and anyone who believes otherwise just wants a row
There you go again, insulting people and spouting stupid idiotic shite and your only a potato loving lepy because you think you are ,no one else, sometimes people brought up in multi racial areas can be the most racist, thats why gangs are formed for each nationality, raciism is a minority ? The whole world is built on racism, grow up, get out and see the world.

the thread is about khan and brook on ringside but all the usual suspects want to turn it into some kind of race debate. boring. im out of here . wouldnt matter where khan came from , or what he looked like, his actions make him a tosser. simples.

Well said. It's easy to hide behind the race card. He's a tosser because of what he says, not because of what his ethnicity is.
And people saying he's young? He's 25 and has been in the limelight for over 8 years hasn't he? That's more than enough experience of dealing with the media.
Saying that, I love watching him fight. In the ring I think he's got balls of steel, sometimes to his detriment.

It is simple in my opinion Khan can talk the talk better than Brook .
If i was Brook id sit back and let his ridiculous mouth run.
If he honestly believes he can go up to 147 and the extra weight will fortify his chin then let him .
He will sell the fight better than Matchroom ever could .
You can fool most the people Amir but if your silly enough to move up and face Kell you may seriously get exposed.
If it weren't such a payday i think Brook should tell him to do one .

Safeerah,
Where does what I have said indicate that I believe anyone to be stupid ?
I've stated my facts very clearly - facts, not rhetoric.
Why go on about slavery FFS ?
Is how Mugabi described a boxing fan any worse than how Khan has been described ( white 40 year old meat head shaven, white van driving benefit dodging BNP supporter) ?
Is an Asian person spitting in an 8 year old white lad's face at boxing any better or worse than the white racist bigots ?
No.
It is not on in my view to simply say everyone dislikes Khan because of the colour of his skin.
I don't care if they are white, black, pink, grey purple maroon whatever - if you deal poorly with joe public and do not conduct yourself respectfully then you get what you wish for.
For the record not everyone DOES dislike Khan.

What an obnoxious response. Twenty Six wasn't saying anything of the sort but because you can't win the argument so you misrepresent what the guy says.
Who's talking about slaves anyway, Mr Historian? Why don't you tell us all about the history of the slave trade in Islamic nations long after it was outlawed in the 'West'?
