The one promoter for Sky was a decent idea on paper, given the reluctance of cross-promotional collaboration in the older model, but there are now different problems. What channel the fights happen on, control of star names, fewer star names attached to Sky increases the risk of losing headliners. Brook, Bellew and Frampton are the three main names but they are all in tough divisions at world level.

Carl Froch would have something to say about that.

What in the name of the wee man are you babbling about mate? Sell out venues? Evangelou is a mid 20's novice whose just been beaten, Ryder hasn't fought for a title yet and Ward has only just turned pro! They couldn't sell out the ruddy York Hall at the moment far in less a bigger venue! Barker? The kid has a history of serious injuries and, like Rees, can't say I remember too many occasions when they have banged out arena headlining themselves!

Let's be honest, Hearn has four potential guys who can headline an arena fight in their own backyard. Bellew, Froch, Frampton and Brook. Problem is that if they each fight 2/3 times a year it means they will rarely be on a card with any of the others, hence a bit of doubt towards bold claims of stacked cards. I like Hearn, he's doing a superb job by his fighters but the Sky boxing fan is getting done over. That ain't his fault though, it's the heid bummers at Sky and they've dropped the ball big style.

They'll only get away with the likes of Miranda, Mack and Molitor for a bit, viewers will soon get wise too washed up fighters being flown across the pond for a payday and a beating. The current Sky 'top level' opposition for their stars are beggining to mirror the K's recent opposition - not a good sign I'd say..........
