I think powers got very little to do with the actual force generated of a punch. Its more to do with hitting them when they don't see it coming. Thats what all the great knockouts have in common.

I think there are different sorts of puncher. Compare an Earnie Shavers knockout to a Thomas Hearns. Both types of punch have their place; Hearns was like a cobra striking, Shavers like being hit with a swinging tree trunk.

Randy Turpin was supposed to be an extremely powerful puncher.

Hitting hard is easy, landing the shot is a different story all together!

Look at some of Julian Jacksons KO's and the punches don't even look that powerful.
