I was just telling Lennox Lewis only the other day that the level of name dropping on Boxrec has now reached endemic levels.

Is that after you'd just come off the phone to Dean Powell?

I think there is always a vibe in boxing that if there isn't much to split two fighters in a round - then the headlining homeboy gets the nod.

Huck has been in some right stinkers where he lost - the Lebedev result was a particularly disgusting result.

Also Tilleman's epic scoring over there (and his refereeing) has gone down in German boxing legend.

You will always see a trend of the 'bendy' officials who lean towards a promoters fighter whether he deserves the victory or not, repeatedly get hired for future work.

Likewise the stalwarts who call a fight exactly as it should be, get the sack. That's true of here and there I add.

*cough Tom Dallas vs Zack Page *

I liked @Matt's earlier post, a lot of thought went into that, was excellent reading, nice to read something like that now and again. Well done.

JLP wrote:Dear Paul & Mickey, I know this is a couple of weeks late but I'd just like to say that you're both, in my view, a disgrace to the sport. Your judging, along with the seemingly inept/corrupt (delete as applicable) Italian, of the Huck/Arslan fight was a joke. You should hang your heads in shame. I hope whatever you get from the German promoters is worth it.

This is a confusing thread, I thought this was a forum for boxing discussion where we can all freely contribute our opinions in a group format but on post 2 the TS has been advised to phone the subjects in question to carry the conversation on in private by someone who is not mentioned in said thread subject. I'm still non the wiser after writing it and reading it back.

Regarding Arslan v Huck it was no robbery, it could have been a draw and I wouldn't have complained. Althoug i'd given it by one to Arslan. Also Huck was robbed against Povetkin if we're talking Huck gifts.

...Mickey Vann has rightfully been kicked out of British boxing has he not?

The next one that needs to follow suit is Ian John-Lewis

Has he been kicked out ?

I thought he left to referee for Boxing Union of Ireland as he had to retire over here at the age of 65. Dave Parris still judges British and Commonwealth fights mind

Micky Vann was not kicked out of British Boxing but was forced to retire because he reached the age of 65, that is the age in the Boards rule book that you have to retire as a referee.
This rule has also applied to other top refs such as John Coyle, Paul Thomas & Dave Parris although they can still sit ringside & judge both home & abroad, but the Board have this ruling that you must stop officiating in the ring at 65, a lot of people dont agree with it but thats the Boards ruling, end of story.

I think the Board have it right. Older people may unwittingly blunder on a regular basis.

Kicked out/forced to retire same thing in the end, he's not allowed to work a British show. IJL should also not be allowed to work in Britain...
