I personally think Price worries Fury and although Fury and his family may not be the type to be intimidated, boxing is a professional sport and unfortunately Fury wont be able to have his family in the ring with him when he fights Price. Plus the fight will have huge coverage unlike some unlicensed bout in the middle of a country lane. I think the prospect of Fury being beaten and thus humiliated by Price in front of such a big audience is genuinely a motivating factor behind Fury's clear lack of interest in the fight.
You are saying that Fury is scared of Price and worried that he will be humiliated - it is complete and utter bollocks. I am sure they respect each others talents and they will fight somewhere down the line. I am one of the minority who think Fury will win but if Price wins - won't be a big shock - I can't see where it will happen though.

As for the world ranking of Johnson - who gives a shit about rankings anymore? There aren't many heavyweights better than Johnson around today even in the light of the poor standing of the division at the moment.
You're wrong. It doesn't say Fury is scared of Price. But if you want to interpret what I've written as that, then you carry on my friend. Price is a risk that Fury isn't prepared to take - simples. But please do continue to try and justify the very obvious situation.

No, Kevin Johnson still isn't world class despite what youve written.
Hahaha - I'm wrong! - anyone who is able to comprehend written English can see what you wrote and what you meant. Never mind, one of us will be proven right one day - if Price doesn't get himself knocked out that is!

Fury has confirmed what we all knew, the BBBoC are wasting their time trying to force this one.
Quality stuff, VV.

The BBBoC had to try, I suppose...they can look elsewhere soon.

Oh yeh ,Why is it ?
Ask anyone thats been around them people,I know of the Furys and they dont get scared and they definitely dont get intimidated by stepping in the ring for boxing contest ..,put it this way they have been involved in far heavier stuff ;;-)[/quote]

If Fury is not intimidated then why the constant tweets to Price on an almost daily basis threatening to do this and that to him and yet every time the fight is mentioned Fury and Hennessy say Price has no heart, is a nobody etc etc. They are just poor excuses for not making a huge fight.

If Price was a nobody Fury wouldn't give him the time of day. As I said, in my opinion, Fury is intimidated by Price and knows deep down that if they fought he'd be badly stopped. That's why he doesn't want the fight.

Considering Price is a nobody, he spends every waking hour talking about him. Johnson was rubbish, he barely threw any punches, World Class my arse.

This is largely how I see it.

Whilst I'm not sure Price would stop Fury, I do believe that team Fury are wary of him.

All the Twitter talk about Price is nonsense IMO.

This fight could easliy be made if they all acted liked adults & thrashed out a deal.

Just put the trinkets & rankings to one side & make this grudge match, or forget about it & they both just continue with their respective careers & shut up about each other.

When did i say Price was a nobody ? :-? i might of said Price is fighting nobodys :D
Fury wont be scared to face price once the time is right ,bottom line is that to take a risky fight against Price now would be stupid of fury, its a fight he might well lose and there would be no world title at stake,Fury is ranked no3 by the WBC so why would he risk everything fighting someone unranked or as dangerous as Price when hes only one or two fights away from fighting for a world title ?
Let Price get a world ranking by beating some credible ranked opponents, hes not gonna get it by KOing 50 year old bums like skeleton or fraudley a-farce is he? ,fans are over hyping Price if you ask me,they are riding his dick to early and he ent even beat anyone any good yet...just remember what Lennox Lewis once said "anyone can look good beating a heavy bag"

There's neither of them been beating monsters; Tyson looks the more versatile of the 2, Price far more powerful. I think Tysons' opposition has been a bit better. It will be a bigger bout in 12 or 18 months and Furys talk will have helped promote it. This doesn't seem a real grudge match to me - just good fight building/hype. Every man in the word top 10 is a dangerous fight and a million £ can be lost with one punch.

In an ideal world Fury fights and beats one of the guys he is chasing ( Adamek, Arreola etc ) and Price fits and beat Thompson, Chisora and one more decent name and then bang, there you have a world title eliminator clash set up between the two.

Unless of course they would prefer to fight Wlad and see what happens ( both get knocked spark out )

What does Fury do while Price has these three fights? And to be honest if Fury was to beat an Adamek or Areola I'd expect him to be next to fight Vitali or for the vacant title if he retires.
In an ideal world regarding them fighting. In that timeframe Fury will probably have landed a title shot anyway as you say.

If Vitali retires I suspect Wlad will try and take that belt too.

Some seem to keep saying 'leave Fury-Price for a world title fight' etc...I can't see that happening anytime soon. As I say above, Wlad destroys both and even the likes of Helenius and Pulev would be around 50-50 at best against them.

I don't understand this leave Fury -v- Price for a world title lark.

Who cares about trinkets & titles these days?

We all know how discredited they are anyway.

As a fight fan, I just want to see the best fights & couldn't care less about belts.

If Evander Holyfield & Riddick Bowe can forego titles in order to face other (like Bowe did in 1995 for their rubber match), two less celebrated fighters like Price & Fury should be able to ditch their less meaningful trinkets if they really want to face each other.

Exactly! In this case, its clear and obvious that its simply just an excuse from Fury to try and justify him avoiding Price.

Such talk is my biggest source of annoyance with british boxing and something which makes me feel massively disillusioned with the game.

There should be no way on this earth that a british fighter can get a world title shot if he refuses to fight an obvious and credible domestic rival. This doesnt just apply to Fury and Price, how have Matthew Macklin and Darren Barker been allowed to avoid each other for so long??

A world title would make this fight ten times bigger than it is though.

Bowe-Holyfield was completely different. Two great heavyweights and neither Fury or Price are fit to carry their jockstraps! They didn't need the titles to make their fight any bigger.

So lets not have proper domestic-level fights, instead lets build up hype and hope that the fight eventually happens one day, but only after the relevant fighters have conquered the world! Really??

This is the fight game! Lets have meaningful fights now! I dont wanna see Tyson Fury plodding his way to a 12 round decision over the likes of Kevin Johnson. Who in their right mind does?

Let the fights happen. Benn fought Michael Watson for the commonwealth belt and it was a big enough fight. Talk of building this fight until a world title is involved massively increases the likelihood of the fight never happening, particularly if one of them gets smashed to bits in their challenge for a world title.

This fight should be happening now, with the winner possibly propelled to the cusp of world title level or at least genuine European level.

I at no point said it should keep for a world title fight. :TU:

For one thing I don't think either will win a world title, certainly not if they have to beat Wlad for it! I merely said a fight between them would be bigger if for a world title, which it would be.

It could be Fury wanting to maximise the earnings for such a fight and Price wanting to hijack Furys ranking seeing as he has yet to beat anyone of note.

Fair points, but how long will we have to wait until one or both of them are world champions (assuming either them are good enough)?

This fight is hot right now & would be big; plus we just don't know what's going to happen.

Whatever happened to just making fights because currently they're decent and would be entertaining, and fighters fighting because they're fighters? this would be a good fight now, would earn them more than most of us would earn in a decade and probably wouldn't tarnish the reputation of the loser too badly. I think if Fury didn't worry about Price then he would be indifferent towards him, it's obvious that a fight with Price, for whatever reason, concerns him somewhat.

I think they should make this next summer in a stadium in either Liverpool or Manchester. Next summer is not a vintage one for sporting events so there would be little to compete with in terms of selling tickets.

To me, the fight will only get bigger if one of them wins a world title and they won't do that within the next year if they have to face one of the Klitschko's.
