I'd be hugely grateful if you did put it up. It would be fun to see the Guvnor as well. If anyone has any Prince Rodney, I'd like to see some of his old fights too. I only saw the Pyatt fight, but I believe he was on TV a few more times, and he looked really good for the first few rounds against Pyatt.

I'd quite like to see Andreas Panayi & Shaun Cogan again. Believe it was on Eurosport but I've yet to see it surface.

I found my copy of Andreas Panayi v Sammy Fuentes the other day, and was gutted to find that i only had the first 3 rounds, when Men Behaving Badly came on instead of the cruicial 4th round!!
3 fights after beating Panayi, and Fuentes was WBO world champion!

51 seconds, sorry...
PS: The sound that first straight right made when it hit... Fvck me he might've been a ganja-smoking surf dude but Lopez could punch.

can't remember where i read it, but Lopez was doing his sparring over here before the fight, and very, very quickly, it became apparent 'amongst those in the trade' that Loughran was going to be playing baby seal to his baseball bat.....

it was somewhere like the Peacock, from memory....

That's a delightful image, btw. & it was probably the Peacock, I seem to remember someone reminiscing they'd seen him there...
I remember lots of useful Mexicans on ITV back in the day. Chiquita got an airing (second Carbajal fight?), Cobrita Gonzalez vs Kevin Kelley, Kevin Kelley vs Goyo Vargas, Vargas vs Hodkinson, Hoko vs Villasana (II I think, the Beeb got the first--or is that the wrong way around?), I think one of the Gabe Ruelas vs Azumah Nelson fights got on too...
They even showed Chavez vs Randall I on the Sunday afternoon after it happened.
Bloody great, looking back, & probably actually the best thing to come out of the Benn/Eubank/Bruno 90s popularity "Golden Age": I got to see lots of little Latino fvckers with multiple names.

yeah ITV liked them some Chiquita, they showed him battering and then getting one-punched by that Thai fella, too.....

S'like a trivia question from an alternate universe: "Which Mexican light-flyweight fought in the division's first million-dollar bout & featured regularly on British terrestrial network television, in the last twenty years...?"

I think it might have been me that mentioned Lopez having to be hushed up in training? I was talking to Mr Power (the guy that did all the shorts for the boxers, really nice guy) and he told me. Fairly sure it was at the Peacock.
ITV would often show the US big fights live at stupid o'clock but then do a condensed version in the afternoon on Sunday. Like, they'd cut the 12 minutes of so of waiting around after fan man got a pasting.

Really Loughran did well to get up from that first right hand, alot of boxers wouldn't of, but obviously it didn't help him getting up .
I also remember Loughran v Tony Ekubia, after winning the first couple of rounds Loughran started to lose his way a bit, and then stuck a blatant headbutt on Ekubia in the 5th round, getting himself DQ'd. Tony Ekubia was a toughman in the ring, had some good fights with Holligan and Dickson

Also the fight night like mentioned earlier with cruz vs paez, larry more vs ekubia, hardy vs hyland etc
Also the British title fight series with gums kaylor, Rodney vs cable, graham vs melfah
Commonwealth series honey than vs mitte, notice vs currie, sibson vs sandee etc

I also remember Simon Brown boxing Blocker , they were close friends and Brown looked so upset after beating Blocker. Was that on itv? I seem to remember it was, also the huge upset by Brown when knocking out Terry Norris.
When he was at his best Brown was the top boxer for me.

Sky...remember it well as my family didn't have sky so had to get a mate to video it. Wasn't it an undercard of a big fight. Tyson vs Rudduck or something.

really good thread this although some of the aforementioned are definately in the 90s
no matter but to continue the theme
Horace Notice (1st fighter I saw live with me dad)
Ragamuffin v Curry (can you remember the Simply Red track he came out to?)
Kaylor v Christie and Barry Mac v Juan Laporte(BBC)
Mugabi winning the world crown (Mickey Duff shouting I love ya, I Love ya)
Lou Gent v Henry Wharton (prob early 90s?) cracker...I then met Louis in a pub in Streatham during a pub quiz...just before he was due to meet Benn...not fazed. I liked him.
and lastly and I agree the ITV boxing theme...tub thumping along with the montage
those were the days
