Ronnie is not a lightweight he is super featherweight don't know why they changed it and ranked him at lightweight he was 12th a Super feather... Who is the lightweight depending on what he can weigh in on the day I'm sure Tony and Ronnie would listen..

Apart from the Walsh fight Ronnie lightest weight 9st 8lbs and my guess is the BBBC have looked at all the weigh ins and most being 9st 10lbs makes him a lightweight i read on post along time ago thats how
it works but not 100% sure if its right.. Ronnie's still ranked on here 13Th at super feather but i don't think these count with BBBC maybe his manager could find out how it works

I just take the fights at whatever weight :) jon ur guy is a great fighter and if we could make fight at a catch weight then it could defo work?!? What is minimum weight that he could do on the day weigh in?! I am fed up fighting on everyone else's terms I can make Super Featherweight easily but gotta be more professional and take the right fights! Only reason I weigh in so heavy is because my opponents are heavier so I take on protein to build up! It's a pro sport maybe people gotta act more pro!

Has anyone written a book about Tommy? He must have been promoting for about forty years now, I reckon. There must be some stories.
John Goodlad has written a decent piece on Gilmour that can be found on the BBC website.

He's written a book called A Boxing Dynasty not read it myself it's more of a biography of the Gilmour family.
Its readable but not great.

It was none of Ronnie's fans who put the match up . We are daft but wouldnt say put a flyweight in with a superfeather weight although the flyweight himself commented saying he would beat Ronnie:P It all got a bit out of hand with both camps debating it ha

Agree massively :) Scottish boxing should work together and if fights gotta happen then that's life :) it's a job/sport... Lets make the fans happy!!!

Iain was a little quite when I went into the gym for sparring, but was an excellent sparring partner and was great being in there gym... Very professional, I am sure Iain will go a long way in boxing just keep that head down and do the talking where it matters most :)

Massive Respect

Does this fight have to be for a Scottish Title come on guys,Michael Stupart has lost 4 times in the past year on TKO,how can the Scottish Area Council justify allowing this young man to challenge for one of its titles tut tut

As people always seem to point out on here boxing is as much a buisness and fighters are expected to sell tickets. Well why should Ronnie work hard , sell so many tickets in his hometown and not get a shot at titles because all super feathers refused the fight ,bar Simpson. I know alot of people will jump in here and go well thats boxing and therefor that is the answer to the why did the board allow it question:) End of day Ronnie wants to progress and wont take anyone lightly will fight who is in front of him and try push on this year:)
