That seems like wish fulfillment to me, ie, I don't like Bunce so i'm going to interpret a throwaway comment in a particular way to confirm my view of him.

Bunce has got more screen time on live TV than 99.9% of presenters, pundits and actors, he could play the hard man anytime he wanted.

I watched the phone in live, and I've watched this particular clip a couple more times, and it doesn't seem to me that Bunce was trying to come across hard or threatening. He was clearly wrong-footed by the insult and was struggling to put some words together. I thought he handled it well.

works hard and doing a job in something he loves, means it is all worth it I expect, and I hope he makes a comfortable living. He deserves to.

I don't know the guy personally, although he was good enough to have a chat with me many moons ago and was good value.

He handled the said situation as best as I think could be done, live on air. I didn't interpret any east end dillusions of grandeur.

However, the fact we are giving this any more exposure means that childish behaviour is sniggered at and/or applauded. Prank or no prank.

I doubt, Steve Bunce, allegedly or any other media outlet focussed on the sport we love would like us for it either.

I know he gets about, but a column in Boxing Monthly and a weekly podcast in a bookies surely dont pay more than a couple of hundred pounds. BN will not be paying him anything like 4k a week either. if he is 50k, i would be impressed.
