Still watch the occasional fight..............

I don't feel the need to debate boxing these days.

yeah, that is how i feel, i have seen the debates go full circle a couple of times now and although i do tune into fights on a regular basis i am no way the fanatic i was a few years back. My boxing monthly arrived a couple of days back and still havent openned it.
Back in the pound days, there seeemed to be more going on. I follow Fury, Haye, Chisora, Price, Froch, Bellew, Khan, Brook, Burns and the odd domestic bust up. I tune in for Eubanks fights and Kid Galahad. I still have my eye on Ward, Marquez, Pacquaio, Mayweather and Broner, but that's about it. It seems to have become i minority sport now. I think the current set of fighters don't match up to the guys of the previous generation, except one or two exceptions. Too much politics involved now and the whole brand is at rock bottom. I think in many respects it's had it's day. As for debating boxing, i know enough to not feel the need to go on boards like this anymore. I still glance at the topics, but in all honesty, most bore me silly.

Hope you are keeping well big Fella ? Still in Spain etc ?

The day he left, a large part of KG died. Without his braying, enthusiasm, boxing is dead to me.

I enjoyed his earlier incarnation as The Mad Mod at Eastside.

That day he banned his best mate Rhino for disrespecting him was classic.

I thought forums and that sort of shit were for losers (I still do, myself included) and stayed well clear until I was having a chat with a couple of boxers I knew who were ripping into this guy ("Spud" [and "Rhino" actually]) who must have slagged them off or something on the site he used before Secondsout.com, Britishboxing or something, I can't remember. I was excluded from this in-talk and they went to great extremes to tell me what I was missing. So I had a look and the rest is (dull) history.

It was never dull, the spam era was the most fun time. I seem to remember.
I was an IT Manager at the time, with an office, no internet monitoring and fornicate all to do except amuse myself by comparing situations in boxing to sexual acts in public lavatories. Etc

I've always found it funny how serious things get on forums, I see them as light hearted fun to discuss boxing and other things with like-minded people but some people can be too serious.

The true gold is gleaned when 1 person takes things very seriously and gets into "heated" rows with people not taking it seriously at all.

x2. I miss Spud's contributions as he was genuinely passionate, but it was funny when he would go absolutely ballistic and into meltdown over things where the other person involved was either on the wind-up or clearly just nowhere near as bothered.
I got binned from Facebook by him, but still not sure what I wrote that upset him. Nonetheless, I'm genuinely happy for him that he's doing well and involved in the sport he clearly loves.
Did he and Curtis ever sort out that issue? If memory serves me correctly, he reappeared briefly on here under a new username and posted some disparaging comments about Curtis, but his identity was revealed, which was embarrassing as Curtis had thought they were on friendly terms (happy to be corrected if that's not an accurate representation of events).

I got binned for doing a status saying 'Wladimir is a credit to the sport'. He thought there was some inherent slating of Haye there, was not happy. I was just confused LOL

A few weeks back i had another set to (Which left me blocked)

Some guy had trolled Michael Owen asking him 'if he plays football?' Owen replied that he didn't play much these days, but when he did he lit the world up. He then asked what the troll had ever done to which the troll replied . 'I was in the army protecting you' and people were stroking him off accordingly.

I pointed out that a troll is a troll and just because someone was in the army he shouldn't be having his dick sucked. He went on there to insult Owen, not the other way round.

He then gave me a mouthful for having an agenda against the services (something I most certainly do not) Total leap which I didn't understand.

I did like his irrationality on the boards though. I just took it with a pinch of salt and I respected his passion

[quote="Dead Mouse"]I phoned Spud a while ago, he was at Strictly Come Dancing so couldn’t really talk. I grabbed him again a few weeks back, he couldn’t really talk to me then, and immediately phoned him back after hitting the wrong redial. He sounded fairly annoyed by that point. I’ve left him alone ever since.[/ He's not a bad guy I dont think.

anyone remember 'photocopier'....... back in the days when our spud was heartily involved in a forum, i genuinley forget its name, we progressively all got banned from it one by one...so we started to chat on this (i think) forum, some clever dick (might have been me) cut and pasted everyone of spuds posts from the other forum and put them on here to be absolutely lambasted.

It was like cluedo, trying to work out who 'photocopier' was......

but my oh my it was fun.

Spud, in times of trouble (my dads mega ill in intensive care at the moment :o( )

I still love you.

Hope all works out well for your dad, Rhino.

Next time Spudly calls, maybe ask him about his brief incarnation on here as "Cockney_Gym_Rat" and if the subsequent exposure had any repercussions from the guys he is currently head fluffer for.

Ha Ha........... ....... of course he is not head of boxing, Spud works for hayemaker, thats all i know. But...... watch this space for Kugan Cassius tracking spud down and demanding an interview to try to understand why the former army clerk/paymaster manages to generate so much internet traffic!!!

As for haye and Booth losing the plot...........Ill leave that one to Kugan too.
