Well said MachoMan09.

I know Jeff Hinds personally and believe me he is choked.
Michael will be missed by everyone in the boxing world & of course his family who loved him.
This is very upsetting for all those who knew him. R.I.P

RIP :( .... its a weird one as I remember reading Phil's post earlier in the thread saying how Michael hadnt really taken any big shots. It just shows you how precarious boxing is really.

Terrible news for everyone.

It just shows that even with all the advances the sport has made in regards to medical access and monitoring, boxing is still a tough, tough way to make a living.

Did anyone who saw the fight notice any shots taken to the back of the head or behind the ear?

By all accounts Michael was not hit cleanly throughout the fight. He may well have an injury prior to entering the ring. Of course this can only be speculation. I've heard time and time again from ex-boxers that long term damage is not done in the fight but in the gym during 100's of rounds of sparring.

It seems like a freak injury like fabrice muamba collapsing.

Pretty gutting norgrove wasn't able to be saved it seemed the bout was another routine victory where norgrove was winning pretty convincingly which is scary.

My heart goes out to his family & friends in which is a shocking turn of events
R.I.P Michael.

people in this thread who were there said he hadn't been hit hard, yet.
non boxers die of clots while jogging who seem perfectly healthy.
you hear about something like this more when a boxer goes down in
a fight than when an accountant crumples during a jog or bench
pressing at the gym.

the reason i asked before if he had kids is because nobody mentioned
it and taking up a collection is usually the first thing people think
of when something like this happens and the person has young kids.
maybe a trust could could be set up or something.

.

Yes indeed, but lets face it, boxing involves punching people in the head and the recent studies about the long term effects of sub concussive blows to the head is quite disturbing.

It's not really an arguable fact that boxing is tough, dangerous and requires a hell of a lot of courage.

As soon as a collection is organised I will post details.
