Come on, it's hard to get too excited on the back of a performance where he 'nearly' beat a weak champion ...before getting badly stopped. I mean Frank Bruno 'nearly' beat Bonecrusher Smith, Tim Witherspoon, Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis. He's not exactly regarded as the paradigm of great now is he!

Wlod was coming off a gift and anti-depressant overdose. Wlod is fighting a russian in Moscow next can't remember his name it's on boxrec. Look for Green to call out Mundine and fight Cameron in New Zealand at a catchweight.
Danny Green came off a life anf death operation earlier that year when he had a softball removed from his stomach, he then lost by ko for the first time 3 months later anf 4 months later his 2nd KO loss came.

We wont use that as an excuse though, and just stick to numbers, like who fought a top 10 fighter and won then lost 2 fights against 2 top 4 fighters than came back beat a guy by KO, and backed that up with a win over a top 20 heavy. And still no home for him in the top 10

Who said he was a "Great"? myself, I'm arguing the point he's a top 10 cruiser based on career, and his last 10 performances, some names are being thrown around and those names are yet to register a career memorable victory, the guy you just gave a serve to just asked a simple question and you gave him Frank Bruno's version of why he's not a great. Not "The" question he asked.

He asked why is that, no ones asking for a Novel, article or even a paragraph that explains why he's garbage, when his career indicates otherwise.
Look forgive the fact that i'm Australian and we're talking on an Australasian forum, about an Australian boxer, and that this may not be some flag waiving, cheer squad/nut hugging posters who want an actual logical explanation as to why the guy who's resume looks pretty freakin decent, is summed up as shitt, and not worthy of anything then a quick cheaky quip three words long, or waiting for someone else to write a novel, give him a thumbs up and expect that to be end of topic.

Mate i'm pretty interested in hearing why a guy i rate, is being passed of as some silly nonsense, nationilsm rant?

Not trying to be cheeky mate, purely diplomatic here, but are we to expect to know how you know more than a guy who's posted here for 5 or more years, and has credability, with the big 4 posts and 4 sentences that you've posted?

I'm keen to discuss reasonably with you!

On what planet is Shane Cameron a top 20 heavyweight?

I'm an ex-pat Uk-er living near Adelaide. Sorry if I'm a bit cynical, it seems a bit ridiculous to rate Green as anything more than what he is - a fairly average fringe contender, who has had a handful of averagely good results in international class. He's the UK equivalent in talent terms of someone like Glen Catley, who incidently beat Marcus Beyer, rather than being outpointed by him ...so possibly I'm being a little overly charitable as it is! :)

Yeah I would, but (a) it would be too easy, and (b) I can't be bothered. Start with the UK - Price, Harrison, Sprott, Fury and Haye. That's five without even trying!

Come on mate, the guy i gave barely anything to after he was shockingly smashed by Tua,( That's nothing to be ashamed about either) However the 6 or 7 fights proceeding that showed me and most that he's worthy of a top 20 heavy ranking and for that by all standards in the alphebet, Boxrec and sometimes the ring, will automatically gain you a ranking in the division lower than your current ranking to the equal or higher denominator than the division the fighter would migrate from.( heavy to cruiser in other words) And for most who have disagreed so far that win over Barrett was nothing short of spectacular, and has to be in the top 10 knockouts of the year world wide.

Give me 20, because i cant even think of 12 fighters better than Cameron(not just based on record). He deserves to be in a top 20 imo.

Cameron deserves to be in that top 20 division, especially after that great KO of Barrett.

Sprott WAS good.

Cameron beats him if they fought now.

did you see his fight with helenius? he could of won if he tried but im not sure if it was sprott being good or heleanius being crap but id say sprott would lose as he wouldnt try, having a look at top 50 heavyweights i'd say cameron rates between 18 and 25

Add in Chisora and throw in Sam Sexton. What's that 7 from the UK already. How's Cameron possibly getting into even the world top 30.

You made the comment, I didnt. I dare say its something along the lines of holding versions of 3 different world titles. Including an interim WBC and a WBA belt. Or is it because you dont think anything of the IBO or is it because he had his fights at a so called "Danny" weight...which his oppenents agreed to. Or is because he brought legends such as Jones and Tarver to our shores. But of course he only iced Jones because he was way past his prime. Despite the media having Jones a favourite. Is it because instead of fighting some bum after getting belted he gets in with another top notch fighter and unfortunately gets stopped again. Or is it because he gave Shane Cameron, a heavyweight, a massive opportunity and overcame a bigger man in an absolute war. Could it be because he went to Germany twice and fought Beyer....shit do I need to go on. You must have me mistaken for someone else. I am definately no "big shot" but if you are gonna call someone a fraud at least state why you think it !!

Well clearly he isn't a fraud. But he stands out a bit more because Australia is such a small country. If he was in the UK he'd be lost in the mix somewhat. Kind of like I said - he's Glen Catley, and who really remembers that guy these days?!

On what planet would Sam Sexton beat Shane Cameron? Or Dereck Chisora for that matter maybe planet Hungry Jack's....

Chisora got the better of Helenius and gave Vitali a tough fight; why couldn't he beat Cameron?

I think everyone in the top 25 of the BoxRec rankings, and several fighters outside the top 25, are arguably better than Cameron. I have no problem with him being in the lowest parts of the top 25, but I don't think he deserves to be close to 12, even if rankings aren't just based on records.

Cameron's best win was over a 40+ Barrett, who has won 1 fight in the last 5 years, and Cameron doesn't have any notable wins apart from that; what do you consider his next best HW win? And in which fights has he shown top 12 ability?

If he starts to balloon his chances wouldn't be as good, but if he's around 245 I don't weight would be much of an issue.
