Not highly entertaining, but Rigo showed excellent boxing skills, speed, and ring IQ, while Donaire fell into the trap of fighting Rigo's fight.

Donaire blew it, to wary of what was coming back from Rigo's ( who although looked sublime at times needed to throw more ) Donaire seemed to lose complete focus with his swollen eye in the last when he should have gone for broke as he clearly lost the fight

Rigo was far too slick for Donaire. I thought he won handily. Had a few quid on Rigo points win

I had Rigo winning handily too: 117-111 (9-2-1).

Couldn't see more than 4 rounds for Donaire.

Donaire was really out of sorts , and it couldn't have came for a worse opponent.

Rigo was really entertaining in the opener, but he reminded me of Andre Dirrell for large spells after the first round - and was booed for about 4 consecutive rounds for his non-engagement with Donaire.

Donaire could have really been in that fight if he'd feinted and thrown more, even if he missed. I bet the punch stats are shocking.

As it stands he lost handily and I'm glad the judges didn't shaft Rigo.

But I won't be up late ever again to watch him, I'll catch the highlights instead.

I don't think Donaire can complain about the result, he looked too cautious and seemed like he didn't have any idea on how to deal with Rigondeaux.
I'd like to see a rematch because I would be interested in how Donaire would deal with him a second time.
Not the greatest of fights, not the worst but certainly not the classic we all hopes for.

I had commentary down to a whisper and only turned it up when Provo was shown and camera went onto Bradley 'no he is not my friend!' When asked.

Wasn't Roy jones it was Timothy Bradley. The main commentator is referred to as "the colonel" fornicate knows what his real name is haha

What now for rigo up to featherweight for a possible fight with mares? If not who else could he be matched up with? Some achievement in 12 pro fights!!!

Rigo is just a sublime boxer, near untouchable. But it's no wonder he can't get any sponsers for his trunks ( valium maybe ? )

Through all the crap colonel Bob was speaking, Bradley got it right - Nonito had the massive problem of having to really let his hands go against an ultra defensive boxer, who was probably capable of knocking him out with that straight left hand if he did.
He didn't want to risk it, as you could see by the respect he showed Rigo - he tasted some of that power early and realised that the crafty Cuban was waiting for him to walk on to a bomb.

Great prediction Deserter Donaire was ponderous and totally befuddled by Rigo's speed and movement.

Not the best fight for excitement but donaire never got going. Rigo defiantly won this fight but it was very cautious. Rigo v mares now get it on... I would like to see donaire v Santa Cruz if I'm honest.
