I'm not sure if it's ambitious or honest; didn't Kessler spend a lot of time in Monaco with the jet set? He has a good life outside of boxing and doesn't want to be a contender or an 'also ran' that would make him ambitious - if he can't be (a) champ then he'd sooner do something else. It seems that both Froch and Kessler have similar qualities/characteristics beyond being successful boxers - I could imagine them being able to socaialise and have similar attitudes etc.

Yeah no doubt he's got a life outside boxing but 'the hunger is not what it used to be' when going into possibly one of his hardest fights ever doesn't give the impression that he's prepared to win at all costs which is understandable after such a long career. Apparently the Danish contingent mainly missed out on tickets when it sold out according to the article (Independant)

I can imagine that any sucessful person with wealth and public acclaim would feel less hungry than when they started out - Kessler is a competitor though, similar to Froch. I can imagine both trying their very hardest regardless of external reward, in fact I imagine neither likes to lose at anything.

It is interesting that the odds on him in Denmark have moved - the news from his training camp was good last week.

Some of the experts polled really feared for Holyfields health - they feared a ring tragedy prior to the first bout.

A good camp bodes well for a good fight and you're right when the bell rings and the game faces are on Kessler will revert to type and go for it.

I thought i read a poster on here saying Froch was viewed as the favourite even by the Danes.

He probably should be - the first fight was *really* close and, whatever your particular scoring of it, it was pretty clear that Froch was coming back at Kessler in the second half. Since then, we've seen signs of improvement from him, and of a slight decline in the Dane. That plus home advantage makes the logical pick Froch on points - doesn;t necessarily mean that that will happen mind!
