All relative though Columbo mate, I wouldn't fancy that lifestyle to be honest! Not for me
Yeah true. I do remember about 10 years ago though a group of travellers parked up on this field near me. You had to walk past it to walk in an alley to get through to gillingham. Anyway, there was human shit on the floor! It was fornicating digusting. Seriously.lillywhite14 wrote:All relative though Columbo mate, I wouldn't fancy that lifestyle to be honest! Not for me
I have to admit that i was never under the impression that a lot of fighters, retired, etc are living some kind of high life! I remember having a brief chat with Jamie Moore on twitter and he was saying how the sky work and a bit of personal training on the side helps him pay the bills and how his missus worked full time which if she didnt he would be in big trouble.Parson Cross wrote:Since you mention it Palooka Rhodes is working full time so is his wife because they have bills to pay and kids to take care of. Such a lot of bollocks spouted about what fighters earn and purses in general.
I never said that Rhodes doesn't have bills to pay, most of us do. I read an interview with him that he'd done well in the first phase of his career and bought a hairdressing/beauty salon that his wife ran; this had kept them going through the lean period when he lost and had to really think about things and start again. I imagine that a successful boxer such as Rhodes; (title class, televised bouts, generally speaking the 'home' fighter) has earned a fair whack. I understand that he has worked very hard for it; most professional sports people do; Fury works hard for his money too I'd have thought.Parson Cross wrote:Since you mention it Palooka Rhodes is working full time so is his wife because they have bills to pay and kids to take care of. Only a very small proportion of people get to live the high life; the point I was trying to make was that if Fury can wrangle a high profile bout against a big name then; particularly Haye, which would be a PPV event; he would earn enough to be able to not worry about bills for some time; enough time to have a good think about what he was good at, what he was interested in and what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He must have earned enough to buy his family home outright by now - which puts him in front of 99% of people his age. I wasn't trying to imply that he'd have enough to have champagne breakfasts every morning or decamp to Monaco and to be honest what I've described IS the high life and unimagible to most people who struggle through.columbo wrote:I have to admit that i was never under the impression that a lot of fighters, retired, etc are living some kind of high life! From the Medway towns, huh? Gutted mate. Do you tilt your cap up on your head, have a Stella on the go at 11:00 and tuck your tracksuit bottoms into your socks? Do you have a whale sized girlfriend in a Velour tracksuit with her hair up in a scrunchie and an articulated gold clown necklace? Do you have a malnourished baby daughter called... Beyonce? Do you have webbed feet?columbo wrote:Yeah true. I do remember about 10 years ago though a group of travellers parked up on this field near me. Fair enough TerryDead Mouse wrote:I spoke to a member of his family last night. They said the 80-20 was a 'winner takes all' Twitter jibe and that if the fight happens it won't be down to their side. I think it'll happen.
I'm pretty certain Haye would bite Fury's hand off for a split like that!columbo wrote:Fair enough TerryDead Mouse wrote:I spoke to a member of his family last night. So do you imagine no more big fights for Chisora?bengulnaci1 wrote:I said it before, Hennessey will never take this fight. For the sake of a few million and 'cash in', it just wont happen.
Fury will fight no names and no one threatening until he picks up a title. Then it will be a few defences fighting tomato cans, all the while making much more money than, in the long run, what Haye and a loss would give.
No brainer, really. This fight wont happen and its down to Hennessey and Fury.
