Re: Frank Maloney post fight interview

Ok Frank might not be everybody's cup of tea but no need to kick the man when he is down Personally I have always found him to be ok but thats just my opinion
Apart from Lennox Lewis, how many of his ex fighters have done well from boxing in terms of wealth? Not needing to work again and sunning it up (well deserved) in their villa?gmanji wrote:the guys a wankpiece, you reap what you sow. doesntt give a poo about his fighters. only his wages
Very, very few never work again.mimmy123 wrote:Apart from Lennox Lewis, how many of his ex fighters have done well from boxing in terms of wealth? How many in all the world can do that?mimmy123 wrote:Apart from Lennox Lewis, how many of his ex fighters have done well from boxing in terms of wealth? X2 .... very few boxers can retire and be financially secure for the rest of their lives! Also Maloney has worked with a lot of domestic and european level guys. They're never going to retire millionaires!palooka wrote:How many in all the world can do that?mimmy123 wrote:Apart from Lennox Lewis, how many of his ex fighters have done well from boxing in terms of wealth? I dont believe Frank can be skint. Surely he has money put in structure and markets. If he sold all his assets im sure he could retire by the sea and live the life of a wealthy person, why keep going on if you are old enough to retire and have a secure life? Pointless working your way to a early grave and leave all your wealth to others. The Insider wrote:Are there any links available of the interview?
I too have worked on/with Frank and never really had a crossed word. He's a cheeky little begger at times and plays the game well but I'm aware of stories that do cast aspersions on his character. If it's effecting his health it may be time to take stock and start to relax and enjoy the rest of his life.

Maybe it isnt just about money though. He clearly enjoys it.mimmy123 wrote:I dont believe Frank can be skint. Surely he has money put in structure and markets. I try not to think about that sort of thing too much as like you say it's rather depressing. Even if you make it to 80 odd there's a good chance you could end up with dementia or being unable to get around, etc. It's not an overly great existence. I see how it is for my grandad who's 86.MachoMan09 wrote:Youngsters don't understand how getting old can eff your head up. indeed a comment in very poor taste.G0mez wrote:To give this a sense of balance,Wrists wrote:Anyone who takes pleasure in that video is a bellend
Anyone who sits in the ESPN studio as an analyst for the Klitschko vs Wach fight and says “All Klitschko was probably thinking was, ‘I’ve saved ten per cent; I haven’t got to pay Manny’.” is a far bigger bellend when the guy is barely cold in his grave.
Lot's of people criticised the fight. The beacons of sporting integrity Johnny Nelson & Glen McRory couldn't contain their outrage.G0mez wrote:Or hows about the massive spread in the papers where Maloney slags Luxembourg / Wazza / Wazza channel to high heaven for making the "disgrace" that was Haye vs Chisora...
...he then is dropped by Sky and then supplies David Price as chief analyst to the fight and then is subsequently is all-smiles signing for the man his criticised.
I appreciate what Frank has done for the sport, but don't piss on my back and tell me it's raining.
I dont think Frank really liked Manny. I remember reading an anecdote of his of how when he was promoting Lewis and Emmanuel was training him that Steward would never offer to pay his share of the tab or he would leave before the bill came, etc. I think Frank thought he was a crafty begger. I agree with what you're saying though. That's a tasteless thing to say in the circumstances.G0mez wrote:To give this a sense of balance,Wrists wrote:Anyone who takes pleasure in that video is a bellend

I think that's a bit of an overreaction. His health has been bad. Asking him how he is isnt the crime of the century.Riddick Blowe wrote:No criticisms of the interviewer's final question here? 'Over the last six months your health has been suffering, how are you feeling right now?
Appalling question posed of a man clearly in a bad way emotionally!
But what did the guy expect Frank to say? 'Well, I haven't been so good but despite my heart attack after the first fight and my sad demeanour in this interview thus far the second stoppage in a row of my marquee fighter isn't a problem whatsoever and I expect to bounce right back'.columbo wrote:I think that's a bit of an overreaction. To be fair he hadnt broken down at that point. He broke down after the question. It was a valid question in terms of seeing if he was ok.Riddick Blowe wrote:But what did the guy expect Frank to say?
