Too bad he didn't listen.Il Duce wrote:The 'brutal' Knockout Loss {L KO 7} to Rocky Mattioli on March 11, 1978 in Australia
ended the World-Rated run for Elisha Obed, who was only {Age; 26}.
Elisha had first entered the Top 10 in The Welterweight Division back in September 1973
when he was {Age; 21 1/2}.
The 4 1/2 year success run included a WBC Light-Middleweight Championship and '2'
successful Title Defenses. And with the 'two' losses in Championship Bouts, Elisha had
competed in '5' Championship Bouts.
With a record of 70-5-4 {49 KO's}, the loss to Rocky Mattioli dropped Elisha out of the
WBC Top 10 Ratings
Manager - Mike Dundee and Trainer - Moe Fleischer recommended Elisha to retire, and
enjoy the benefits of having accumulated a large bank account over the years, as well as a
newly built home in The Bahamas.
