That's because hardly anyone knows about Gavin vs Skeete. It's a rubbish fight and it will get slagged off.

No one thinks Kel is a bad fighter. He's clearly talented and people get frustrated when they see a good boxer move along at a snails pace. When a decent fight is finally made. It doesn't go ahead and it makes people even more frustrated than they were before.

Kell is Britain's most boring active boxer career-wise for the talent he has. Cleverly was probably second but he's putting things right by defending his title against Sergey Kovalev. If Nathan beats Sergey Kovalev then he fully deserves that belt around his waist. Kovalev is actually the favorite with the bookies.

Since when was he fighting Bradley Skeete?

Any worse than Stuart Elwell when Brook was at a similar stage(but with only one title and not as good wins on his record)?

BoxRec have him ranked at 17th in Britain. The BBBofC should not allow Skeete to fight for the British title.

He is a woeful opponent for Gavin.

There's only Khan, Brook, Gavin, Purdy and Lynes that would have a clue what to with Skeete.

kell is boxing someone who was a world champ in 2012....gavin is a year olderand boxing no.17 in britain

I watched them both live once, at th M.E.N. Kell was the current British champion and boxed early, off tv in front of, I would guess, a thousand spectators. He probably sold personally less than 200. Gavin was the first fight of the live broadcast, his third bout. I would say he sold 600. Gavin is now a double champion and Kell no further on, achievement wise, from that very night...

The Skeete fight is now off, seems Skeete never accepted the offer but Frankie was told or believed he had.

Frankie boxed in front of the bigger audience at Upton Park. You still haven't named me who Brook has beat who is better than Denton. Yes, the Hatton fight was sold well but a lot of those have been lost now judging by the last two attendances at the Arena and then them packing him off to Hull. As for the mandatory position, what good is it if you're not going to fight for it? I would love to see them box and my money would be on Gavin. If you have a problem with that fine. Believe me, I am not anti-Kell, just think he will get exposed sooner rather than later.

Boxers don't scare easily especially one's with Kells ability and the fact is he loves it fighting the limelight the lot he didn't throw it away it was just pulled a bit further out of reach.

You asked why people jump to his defence its because life can be shite but if you keep trying when everyone's slagging you and the right minded people see that they will stick with you and rightly so IMO.

if we are talking boring to watch, i would not class brook, burns or cleverly as boring.

i think the term boring is misplaced in this thread as the OP was talking about level of opposition, in which case all 3 of these guys deserve close scrutiny. And having bellew on your CV, does not excuse you from that, bellew is a fringe world level fighter now but had no place fighting for Cleverlys world strap 2 years ago as a relative 16-0 novice.
