Indeed, his first 3 fights with Vazquez are as good as damn near any trilogy in the sport's history. Several Highlight reel KO's, and a hell of a run as Bantamweight king. I was a fan ever since I first saw him. I wish him well in retirement.

Always sad to see your favorites go out like this.

I might. He's the only guy currently in boxing with the following to get a gift type decision against Vegas' boy.

Vasquez was my favorite "little" guy.
I was big fans of both he and Marquez. When they fought I just wanted a great fight, and for the best man to win. They never disappointed me.

I was a huge fan of a lot guys from that weight area through the years. When Vazquez fought Jhonny Gonzalez I was a big fan of Jhonny too. I remember Jhonny vs Rafael at Bantamweight was one of my dream fights back in about 2004.

He almost had a slight look of jealousy on his face that Cano was going to be on the big PPV undercard and he wasn't. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it.

I woulda been with the majority had I not seen Canelo do Trout in. I feel Trout would beat Mayweather. Canelo is not slow and he his body attack is gunna be hell. You thought Cotto had success against Floyd? Wait til next week.
I've always thought Canelo is more skilled than what people give him credit for. His patient style could bother Floyd, but his punch output is extremely low and he does do the stupid Hatton lunge in from too far outside move on occassion as well. Plus there's that catchweight.

That's exactly why I think he's gonna lose, the low workrate. I don't doubt he'll take his share of rounds when he turns it up and attacks aggressively, but he goes through a lot of rounds a little too patient, and I feel like all of those rounds he waits and waits trying to counterpunch Floyd, he'll lose.

And I expect he'll have at least 7 rounds like that.

That's ok. They'll both walk out and shower with the winner.

I don't think he'll do much better than Guerrero. He gasses, is there to be hit, and as has been mentioned, low output.

An 8-4 kind of deal, imo.
