Columbo your point as I understand is a contradiction in itself how can something be "close" yet "clear"

The fight should be scored on a round by round basis and most people had Beltran by 1 or 2 points,
With a 10-8 in their that's only 1 or 2 rounds, most people probably agree burns won 1,2,11,12 , thats 4 rounds so how can someone win just under half of a fight and it not be close ??

If a fighter CLEARLY wins the first 7 rounds and is OBVIOUSLY 70-63 up going into the 7th but then loses the final 5 rounds in a competitive manner I'd describe that as a "close but clear".

In a "similar" manner I remember a lot of people complaining about John v Juarez I saying John had been robbed, what seemed to stick in their mind was the way John totally dominated the first 6 rounds, unfortunately the final 6 were competitive and it cost him.

Carlos Ortiz Jr also gave round 12 to Barker against Geale. (Not disputing the result, just his scoring of that round)
He seems to like us Brits
