Burns was completely dominated and almost stopped against Gonzalez and then dominated, brutalised and dropped against Beltran. He shouldn't be champion already is the bottom line! That in my book is a fragile champion.

Brutalised, yes he was so brutalised he was the one who finished the stronger even with such a horrible injury.
How any fighters do you think would fight on with a broken jaw? Very very few
I remember AAA getting interviewed after the Gonzalez fight saying he'd have fought on with 2 broken hands in real terms if he'd had show more bravery against Nicky Cook he may have won a world title fight(which of coarse he never) so world champ :shame:
Peter Harrison used to have to beg AAA to spar Scott Harrison and when they did AAA would make them a bore feast with negative boxing

Billy I appreciate you coming on here defending your fighter but you are looking more foolish by the day.

This topic has been hijacked by you in defence of your fighter. But we are supposed to be talking about the future of Scottish boxing: Burns is not the future of Scottish Boxing. He is on the decline, and once he loses (will not be long) then like all fighters who think they are better than what they are, they will punt their trainer, so you're on thin ice, especially when he is supposed to win at home and has no answer other than hugging for a whole fight and being totally outclassed by a Puerto Rican no one had heard of.

Can we stick to the topic please.

Look mate I'm not one the clowns who regularly tries to get a rise out you and value the fact you come on here. I also speak as someone who regularly pays to watch Ricky. In my opinion as a boxing fan Ricky is extremely fortunate to still have a belt for the second fight running. Yes he's shown great heart and bravery but bottom line he's been outclassed 2 fights in a row. That's why his coat seems on a shoogly peg.

I'd be delighted if he beat Beltran and won a unification fight. Make it happen!

I reckon I pay a little bit to watch Ricky as well (SKY sports subscription) and he did well to get through both bouts and Beltran won the fight; hope the rematch is very good and both are at their best.

I agree mate

Here are a couple of others i have remembered about since starting the thread

Darin Reid: Darin won the Middleweight Scottish Amateur title a couple of years back, he comes from Alloa and is a nice guy. He does the basics well and can hit hard with his backhand. I think with the right trainer and the proper dedication he could maybe surprise a few people.

Jordan McCrory: Jordan always had problems with the amateur judges and I think that his style will be much more suited to the pro game, he is strong and aggressive with quite fast hands. He is training with Peter harrison who's style of boxing should suit Jordan and will get good sparring from Scott to help him improve during his early pro career.
