In all seriousness, which heavyweight champions or contenders from 1990 onwards actually beat Wlad as he is today?

Is that with or without the wrestling ?thepocketrocket wrote:In all seriousness, which heavyweight champions or contenders from 1990 onwards actually beat Wlad as he is today?
It was a general question about who, on the modern era, with the tactics he uses, would beat him? Not saying no-one would, just wanted names who could get over the tactic.mrpedigree wrote:Is that with or without the wrestling ?thepocketrocket wrote:In all seriousness, which heavyweight champions or contenders from 1990 onwards actually beat Wlad as he is today?
Without wrestling Wlad-da-Grab wouldn't be half as effective over 12 rounds ...fact.
BTW YOUR AN IDIOT
Witherspoon is an interesting one.Tom Ford wrote:thepocketrocket wrote:In all seriousness, which heavyweight champions or contenders from 1990 onwards actually beat Wlad as he is today?
TYSON HOLYFIELD BOWE LEWIS WITHERSPOON..
I do feel that Holyfield may have been mugged out of the fight. He certainly wouldn't have been able to use the headbutts against WladTom Ford wrote:thepocketrocket wrote:In all seriousness, which heavyweight champions or contenders from 1990 onwards actually beat Wlad as he is today?

Holyfield beat a far better big man in Bowe - Bowe may have been at his peak very briefly, but he was an awesome fighting machine, had everything, great jab, cast iron chin, tremendous punch power, good combination punches, and terrific inside work, if Holyfield was able to overcome Bowe, he would beat Wlad.thepocketrocket wrote:I do feel that Holyfield may have been mugged out of the fight. I'm not including Foreman and I'm doing best out of threes.thepocketrocket wrote:In all seriousness, which heavyweight champions or contenders from 1990 onwards actually beat Wlad as he is today?

Bowe 2 Wlad 1
Lewis 3 Wlad 0
Tyson 1 Wlad 2
Holyfield 1 Wlad 2
Vitali 2 Wlad 1
None of the others would get a win.
No offence taken. I don't know you to respect you or your opinion about me, so I don't feel insulted!JimJim2009 wrote:No disrespect intended but if anyone thinks a peak Holyfield would not beat a peak Wlad, you have got sxxt for brains and know nothing about the sport.
I think Holy would get one possibly two wins out of three versus Wlad. A lot of people grossly underestimate how effective Wlad's spoiling work is. He's realised that fighting inside against small guys is stupid if you can get away with clinching. If guys like Bowe and Lewis had taken a similar approach, Holyfield would've had nowhere near as much success against them.JimJim2009 wrote:No disrespect intended but if anyone thinks a peak Holyfield would not beat a peak Wlad, you have got sxxt for brains and know nothing about the sport.
Exactly, neither went as negative as Wlad did.Aden wrote:I think Holy would get one possibly two wins out of three versus Wlad. Who knows for sure? All I know is that when I watch my old Bowe fights now (he's one of my favourites) I think the way he fights inside against smaller guys is stupid - I never used to think that - and whilst it's exciting there's little wonder he slurs now.Kilburn wrote:Would Holyfield have fallen for that clinch tactic over and over though? So you don't think fighters can improve then?hurlock wrote:I think purity,Brewster & Saunders would of filed up holy aswell
A disgrace.to think people called John Ruiz boring to think they accused Ruiz of hugging and criticised alongside bone crushert smith, and others......klitchkos has a disgusting throw one shot and lean on the foe style and when hit run tactics.people criticised haye and if u do a search on my comments at the time I said wlad only won by 2-3 points. Hate was demonized as he talked big before said he'd kayo wlad and lost us a packet.truth is hate came quite close and wlad used hugging there too and is afraid of finishing a fight taking a riskloaded_gloves wrote:Boring to watch? I think Wladimir tops even Henry Akinwande and John Ruiz in terms of being the worst titlist ever because he has been allowed to offend both his opponents and the viewers sensibilities for such a long period of time, while fully supported by the referees and commentators' Ministry of Propaganda while interest in boxing rapidly dwindles.
Here is the question:
A totally fair fight. A proper boxing match. Punches given and taken. Hard ass old fashioned referee not on any payroll refuses to allow Wladimir to hold, spoil, buy time, hit and hold. He is forced to stand and fight, as he used to back in 03, 04.
How long does he last? You know, not wrestling and spoiling. That old fashioned thing we all once called Boxing.
He fought inside because he was effective inside, his uppercuts inside were devastating shots.Aden wrote:Who knows for sure? Why didn't he tie things up? At least until the ref started docking points. It's not like he was averse to fighting dirty. Perhaps he just wasn't sophisticated enough tactically.
