People keep saying this about money. I have been involved and offered fighters their biggest paydays to fight Ronnie and that's been refused. I disagree with Blaming the board and agree to a certain extent it's down to the manager. What can a manager do if it's the trainers who are refusing the fights. I feel that the board should enforce fights through the matchmakers. Prospects should fight each other especially after 10 fights. Too many protected fighters out there they can't all be Champions. Fight each other a loss may make them a better fighter. All of Ronnie's managers have had the same problem he is very hard to get anyone to fight him. I think this will be the same until
he's made mandatory for a title then we will see what happens.
Wat fighters hav turned ronnie down and how do know wat they hav earnt in other fights the board r making and accepting eliminators or title fights that are 50-50 fights (ie hooper v kays male v james) so the board r making the fights. His manger needs to pull his finger out or get ronnie on the road as the away fighter to get the fights he wants
Not going to mention names as it's not fair some the fighters wouldn't even of known. I know was highest for some because some managers accepted the fight saying its a lot more than they have ever had. Then trainers have turned it down. The board are just accepting fights the aren't mandating eliminators. Do you truthfully believe your cousin v James would/should be a mandated eliminator? I agree it's down to his manager but it's not all pick on Tommy as Billy likes to jump on the bandwagon. As he well knows it's very hard to get fights for Ronnie. As you have said before maybe the winner of Troy/James can fight Ronnie in a eliminator for the British title. We will see what happens

I'm sure both troy and chris wud take the fight. But ronnie wud need a meaningful win first to go into a final eliminator against either. Jon kays won't b far off and imo not saying it will happen I think the winner of troy and chris will fight kays in a final eliminator. All around the same level with a decent wins on their record. Will b interesting to see wat happens as no one knows wat smith will do regarding the sykes fight.

Also do u think ronnie has done enough to b mandatory for a title

In honesty I think Ronnie has done a little more than the rest. No one knew how good Ryan Walsh was after the Ronnie draw and he showed against Selby that he's very good. My personal opinion. I'm not saying it's right is that he should be fighting a final eliminator in his next fight. In honesty he doesn't really care about the titles he just wants to fight the best. Like Ronnie has said he will fight anyone so really it's down to Tommy, the other managers/trainers and the BBofBC to sort it.

he has not done enough to be mandatory for a title but having said that if he carnt get fights he can never get to mandatory the only way he can move forward is if somebody is prepared to make opponents cash offers they carnt refuse its as simple as that but i feel sorry for ronnie as he seems to be stuck in limbo just remember in this game money changes everything

Ronnie was already scheduled to fight Walsh for commonwealth title so clearly is around that level. This all gets boring. Too much politics ad you know it's bad when joe public knows it's politics. Board only care about putting certain fights to purse bids. It's a joke as managers can't do there jobs due to all the protecting of records. Blame a manager all you want but the board are taking money off these fighters for licenses etc? surely they should be making the fights happen also. And at lower levels money certainly doesn't talk. After money paid out etc isn't exactly a wage . One thing that irritates me about tommy is the fact he had 1 job. Make sure ronnie is active as ronnie is looked after by sponsors. Trains full time. Goes and finds his own sparring etc. Clearly boxing is about getting a right break and taking the chance. Tommy is clearly panning ronnie off with it's the board trick but both of them fall short. Tommy will be consistent with matching ronnie on home shows with journeyman and people keep saying away shows clearly any chance he's given won't be on a gilmour show and will be fighting away:)

Walsh is a featherweight tho mate and he drew yes walsh is a good kid I agree. Imo curren is ronnies best result troy beat him points chris stopped him. So how has he done more and sud b in a final eliminator wen other 3 ( including kays he beat hooper ) have equaled or bettered his best win.

No offence to Curran but he's not the best he has faced I've been to all the fights. Ryan Walsh was his best opponent then In my opinion it's the boy Rogowski he will shock a few of the British lads if he fights again over her. After that I would say Maxi Hughes. Then Curran. Ronnie would be better placed to say but watching the fights that's my opinion. Did Curran not quit in that fight due to being in a hard fight a week or so before? Like I said people rank fights differently. It doesn't really matter what any of us say it's down to the board and we will just need to wait and see what happens

See Davie thats were the problem may be!!!! What right have you got offering fighters fights? YOUR NOT A MANAGER!!! and if you were you'd know another manager cant speak to you regarding opponents for that reason, maybe you should look up the term manager and allow whoever Ronnies manager is to manage afterall thats what THEY get paid for.
With the fullest of repect it doesnt matter one jot what you think, boxing is boxing and things like this happen, god forbid but if Ronnie were to lose his next two fights i wonder if youd be so keen to have changes?
I'm guessing you have a problem reading. Of course I can't offer anyone fights but I was involved in helping Tony and was there when numerous fights were offered. As for what I said in another thread I will spell it out for you.. Ronnie sold 100 tickets.. Towell sold 60 that's 160 folk from Dundee or supporters of each fighter. Is that simple enough or is the math too hard? As for losing his next 2 fights if they were meaningful and at the right level I'm sure he would learn a lot and move on from it. Ronnie isn't here to protect his "0". I'm also confident he won't get beat. Billy how did you get on getting him fights what happened at Dalziel Park. You need to remember the conversations you have before coming on and saying the opposite. You are really bothered that Ronnie choose not to train with you or sign with Morrison! The truth is you know just how good he is, can be so you try and put him down at every chance. In the past I have defended you told Ronnie to train with you, that your the best trainer in Scotland. Sometimes your just plain wrong about someone and I wouldn't trust you as far as I could throw you.(that's not very far) As for Maley I'm not keen to disclose names of all the fighters it's not the right thing to do, it's not the fighters saying no it's their managers/trainers. Sometimes the fighters wouldn't even know it was offered.
I can read perfectly well and NO you can't offer anyone fights, you don't hold any form of licence let alone a managers

Dave seriously your on another planet mate, must be a Dundee thing :TU:
Wait till Ronnie has actually achieved something till you big him up, Afterall he drew in a tight fight with Walsh yet Selbey beat him convincingly, so what level is Ronnie at? I will tell you border eliminator simple as with a good chance of progressing, but we won't know till it happens

Yes Selby beat Walsh but not convincingly. He caused him a lot if problems and most rounds were tight. As fir what level Ronnie is at the minute. I'm realistic Fringe British level. I'm not bigging him up as you put it he hasnt done anything yet!! I know how good he is but it's down to him to show everyone not me!!! Ronnie fought Walsh on 2 weeks notice. Selby had a full training camp. Ronnie looked like he could of stopped Walsh. Selby didn't! Walsh looked like a couple of times he had Selby in trouble. He never had Ronnie in trouble. That's the comparisons I drew from the fight the score was irrelevant. Maley the Maxi Hughes fight won't happen that ship has sailed. There was an attempt to get a rematch. I'm sure it was Mr Nelson that offered that? They are at different weights anyway so really no point. As for Liam Walsh that comes down to Warren. Where and at what weight/level Liam is fighting at next. I was told he's vacating the commonwealth and has something big coming up but could be all rumours. I would expect Joe Murray to then fight someone for the vacant belt.

Id say that Selby had an off night against Ryan Walsh but Walsh can win the British. Its all ifs and butts but Billy everyone has an opinion and are entitled to it. Sometimes you do change it to suit yourself but hey most people do. Ronnie can compete at British level in my opinion. Hes never been in amazing shape for a single fight and being motivated to train is a nightmare for him due to being messed about ( Billy you can back that up) . He has potential and I base that on fact that hes strong, when he hits you it usually affects you and hes a tough boy, he usually takes a shot to give a shot and walks forward. Aberdeen hopefully he gets a decent fight but I dont hold my breath and lucky enough MacAllister and Trainor on bill as both very good fighters.

I refereed Traynor in at the Raddison. Looks heavy handed and picked his shots well. Mcallister has been good when I have saw him. Nice clever boxer. I like Ronnie he's a good lad. Saw most of his fights and he has a very likeable style. Hope it's a good show.

Just to Clarify most of my last post was a joke. Was trying to prove a point of as usual Billy Being disrespectful to other fighters. Ryan Walsh is a very very good fighter and he put up a good performance against a world class fighter in Lee Selby. Selby may of had an off day like Jamie said but this is the same Selby that stopped John Simpson and the Current British Super Feather champ Stephen Smith so I think Ryan Walsh has earned everyone's respect. Styles make fights comparing fights is just silly. Billy I don't understand why you get involved in any of the posts on here to so with Ronnie? I don't hear anyone asking for your opinion so maybe you should focus on your own problems!! Oh yes does Joe Gallagher have more champions than you now ;)

Ha ha yes he does but I have a bonified world champion at two weights Dave something you will never ever achieve.
your problem is you seriously are uneducated regarding boxing and are blinded to fornicate with your brothers ability, I can't blame you for supporting him 100% but your possibly putting him on a pedestal were he could take a massive fall

Haha it's not a competition!! I don't want a 2 weight world champion I would have no time to come on here. I know nothing about boxing?? Let's do a wee Quiz 1) Who has quicker hands Ricky Burns or Amir Khan 2) Why did the Burns v Broner fight not happen?? Be honest now Billy and see who blinded. I know how far Ronnie is from moving through the levels and he would tell you I'm honest with him so no pedestal. Plus in Dundee when we fall from pedestals we land on our feet!! Half the stuff I put on here is just for a reaction the sad thing is you mean the stuff you say #sareane

You both have good points but its getting boring all the slagging each other and who wont fight Ronnie or why did Ricky not fight Broner maybe because there wasn't enough ££££ who cares

Thank you Billy. I would hate to be level headed. Life would be so boring :). Anyway Smashing is spot on it's getting boring. I'm actually boring myself reading what's been put so I think this thread needs to go back onto the show there is 3 other fighters fighting so far so maybe a bit of chat about them.

Billy we are all very level headed, we think Ronnie can fight at domestic level, hows that not level headed? you think Ricky is best lightweight in the world? Out of you and Ricky whos the most level headed? you come on here and defend Ricky and we come on here and talk Ronnie up? how come that makes you any different? Pot, Kettle and Black. Its a boxing forum Billy and its made up of opinions. For what its worth I actually do listen to your opinion and agree often with you and you may know your stuff which I will never claim to know boxing as quite clearly I dont want too but one thing I will never do is change the goalposts on my opinion depending on who I talk too as for 1. Its childish and 2. little girls do that:) Likelyhood is I support Ronnie and when hes done I will never attend another small hall show again as its absolutely brutal. watching mismatches doesnt do it for me and another opinion of mines when we are talking value for money in over 40 of Ronnies kickboxing fights never ever did leave a venue feeling ripped off the way I have with alot of boxing shows. I know you will say Rickys fights etc but although Ricky is value for money the rest of the undercard is usually mismatched and waiting 3 hours while watching that is mind numbing:)
