If memory serves Seldon nearly got lynched on the way out of the ring. The crowd were raging. Not surprised as his display was truly pathetic.

Still remember his "I did my best!" comment in the post fight interview being met with a chorus of boos. Should have had his purse suspended.

Buster Douglas's defence qualifies because Douglas had such exceptional ability and didn't want to try.

Trevor Berbick and Frank Bruno have to be afforded some slack: there's very few men who could survive a rampaging and on-form Mike Tyson.

Seldon falls into the Douglas category because he had skill and didn't try. He is worse than Douglas because he didn't even take a serious punch and seemed to ham act being hurt.

Barker was terrible in every way last night, but Luis Santana is probably the king of this category.

Luis Santana was champion by fluke (disqualification win); he most likely knew he weren't really a champion, it's just incredible that Norris did the same thing again.

Correct me if I am wrong but since Darren came back from career threatening hip injuries he has altered his style somewhat becoming more of a fighter/boxer than a box/fighter. This probably has something to do with the restrictiveness of said injuries that would have ramifications on his lateral movement over the course of a championship fight.

He did fantastically well to a) comeback b) adapt his natural style and still be successful and c) win a world title from a proper world champ away from home being severely tested (dropped in the 6th) along the way. Unfortunately for him, he met a very motivated world class fighter (twenty world title fights and counting) for whom everything was on the line , who is very, very technically gifted, strong and got beat. However, this was not without a fight. He gave it a go and has nothing to prove to anyone.

I don't think we will see him in the ring again (it was rumoured that he was going to retire after the Geale fight) and he has very much earned every penny of his wages last night. If he does knock it on the head good luck to him in his retirement from the hurt business!

No he didn't earn a million pounds, there are people that put everything into a job or a sport for years and do not get a hundreth of that; Barker is a nice fellow and there are millions of nice fellows who don't 'deserve' a million £. He got paid for the Geale bout and boxed very well, he got paid well for that bout though and just because there are many millions of people who enjoy the sport and pay for it doesn't mean that he ought to be gifted a £million; I think it's a scam and a rip off.

He earned the right to be a World champion by doing it the hard way - i.e away from home - with a performance marked out with courage and skill. For his first defence he was offered life changing dough against a fighter who had supposedly seen better days. Unfortunately for him that wasn't the case. He is thirty years old and probably well aware his body will not go on forever and gets the offer of a lifetime which , on paper, looked a winnable fight. Most fighters would gobble that offer up.

The majority of people were surprised how Sturm stormed out and Barker got beaten by and educated, aggressive onslaught.

Still believe that Barker has earned the right to earn the payday that hopefully came his way last night.

He'd had surgery to correct the hip problem, he did well to win the title and I have to reiterate; the money he 'earned' last night came from the pockets of many millions of sports fans; if he carried the injury going in - he wasn't hit on the hip in the bout, then the public have been conned a la Nicky Cook.

There are some smashing people that work hard in every avenue in life and they do not get gifted a £million; what if he'd been seriously injured last night?

Although I saw the fight retrospectively, I agree with you and your friend Terry. Thought he looked odd in his movement particularly in the second round.

I know some are saying the first KD caused the hip to go properly, but I thought it was apparent before that. Yes, you might think it "odd" that a hip can go without taking the fall.... but then this is a person with a history of such problems and it is "odd" for a twenty something (which Darren was when these problems first started) having the hips of a 70 year old.... he does and it was clear the hip was causing more grief than Sturm's shots.

Nothing can top Seldon, especially trying to convince people he wasn't scared during his post-feint interview. I've never seen anyone so petrified during pre-fight instructions.

Morrison vs Bentt warrants a mention in terms of Tommy's cavalier attitude, blowing millions in the process.

I didn't see the fight but Judah vs Baldomir got a lot of stick.

Shut up man. He has a well documented history of hip problems. He got in the ring, walked into the first left hook that was thrown and his game plan went tits up. He took some mighty shots and also threw some, somewhere in that, his hip was effected either by a punch or his movement.

IS THAT SO HARD TO BELIEVE?

Plus, it's the same hip he had when he beat Geale. All of his hip surgery was before that.
