What now for Hatton Promotions, rather than Hatton (trainer / manager) ?

It would seem the latter brings him a lot more pleasure and contentment than the former.

The problem of dangling a Golovkin fight in July at Murray is that it was conditional on him re-signing a promotional contract. At his age, and with the conditions on the Golovkin fight, this means for all intent and purposes the best years of Murray as a pro boxer are signed away to a promoter, end of, and not a major player either - a promoter who basically doesn't promote anymore, because he doesn't have a TV deal.

It is fair to say trust had broken down and perhaps Murray doubted it would materialise. Plus, it only takes for Golovkin to get injured or decide to move up in weight, and Murray's world title fight is off, yet he would remain signed, long term, to a struggling promoter with no TV deal.

He was coming to the end of his contract and in my opinion has made a very, very smart move. He has his future in his own hands and can negotiate accordingly. There's enough world champs around for a title opportunity to present itself sooner or later.

With the very greatest of respect to Ricky Hatton, as a fighter in his peak years he demanded the very best deals for himself and moved from promoter to promoter on short term deals. He wouldn't, in a million years, have signed a deal with a struggling promoter who had no TV deal. It's no use slating Murray for putting himself first either.

I'm lost why Poxon has become a target.
Why ?
His job is to match make and get fighters the opportunities.
Has that been delivered for Murray since first signing with Hatton ? - Yes.
Has Murray had offers on the table to fight Sturm / Golovkin ? Well clearly yes because Murray has said so.
The financials are outside Poxon's remit.
Maybe the spite ought to be aimed at Ricky himself if he's refused to put up the cash, or the Accountant / Administrator working there who must be advising Ricky.
So in conclusion have a pop by all means - but get the target right.
As for Murray's new management good on them as well. They are looking out for him and think he deserves more money and to fight more regularly.

I imagine Poxon has been delivering the message from his own bosses, which in turn makes him the bad guy - "shoot the messenger" if you will. Murray said the GGG offer came with unacceptable options. Fair enough, in that case come up with a plan to get into the mandatory position. According to the WBA rankings, he actually is the #1 contender but I concede not having the foggiest as to what the WBA rankings mean anymore.
