The budget wasn't there for better opponents and there's only so much you can do for a fighter, a certain sort of personality or fighting style is needed to be a big draw, sadly Nathan doesn't really possess either, in which case it was always going to be hard to get him selling tickets.

I think a fighter should be entitled to get himself a better promoter if the one he's tied to can't get the sort of opponents needed. with Nathan's reign, it got to be a joke, you just knew it would be another crap opponent, followed by name-dropping Bernard Hopkins, and over, and over, and over.

If no other promoters are willing to invest in better opponents then there's not a lot you can do I guess, but it is a sad sign of the times when a guy wins a so called world championship and he continues to fight crap. I know that is horribly disrespectful for a fan to say, what I mean is, if you're going to claim to be a world champion, at least fight world class opposition.

Clev seemed stuck between a rock and a press release until his defeat.

Krasniqi, Karpency and a bunch of other mediocre no-marks who, let's be honest - nobody knew nor gave a rat's ass about, basically killed the healthy momentum Nathan had gained appearing on Sky.

Prior to those guys, he was looking sharp and busy, throwing hundreds of punches and stopping people.

If he can rekindle that momentum again ( and it was definitely there ) then he can maybe carve out a very decent living during phase 2 of his career. The Bellew fight will get people talking and it will do good viewing figures. Their first fight was a really good.

Like Tony, the key to it all is who shall win that bout and where do they go from there. The division is full of big, pale eastern bloc challengers who can do damage.

How true. All Warren seemed to be doing was posturing and reading out email printouts. He simply is not able to deliver world level fights on a regular bases. Apart from Chisora all his fighters are straggling at the top level. Gavins carrier is going backwards, Saunders is going nowhere. I believe Cleverly can be a star if he starts winning at cruiserweight.

Junior Witter couldn't sell a ticket whilst live on ITV1. The Kovalev fight only happened because of HBO money and the Cardiff fight fans knew it was a real one.
