I personally cannot wait each month for Horse's rankings. In fact I set my alarm. It's his critics that are uninspiring.

I think its unfair to say he doesn't deserve the shot.
Thurman is unranked with the WBC, IBF & WBO because he is the WBA interim champion.

Thurman would be a big favourite to beat Brook if they ever fought.

The deadline is 19/7.
The IBF are rigid with their rules - ever since the FBI got involved. Regardless of my bias towards Brook it's Porter v Brook or Porter gets stripped then it's Brook v TBA.
Don't shoot the messenger.
Ask Jamie McDonnell if there's any flexibility.

Brook's record is fairly weak.

Vyacheslav Senchenko, Matthew Hatton, Lovemore Ndou etc. Leonard Bundu is on that level and I'd give him a good chance of beating Brook's best opponents.
You chose.

Poorly.

Schaefer seems a bit oblivious to that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRPmdXhGXIw

So do you think Hatton and Senchenko both beat Bundu? They might, but they are not a level above him.

It's not a pass though mate. If Frankie had been a pro 10 years aswell then fair but he hasnt. Also, to public knowledge he hasnt turned down fights ie im thinking along the lines of Mike Jones and Bradley at the respective times.
Gavin pulled out of fights with Frank Horta, Junior Witter and Jason Cook. He now seems to be over his problems and good luck to him.

Kell gets a ridiculous time on here. Horse has become a troll. :shame:

If Gavin is fighting the level of opponents Brook has been in five years he won't get one. But I very much doubt that will be the case.

Brook is a joke. Slagging off his boring career doesn't make me a troll.

Over 9.5 years as a pro and his best win is against Senchenko. Brook deserves less respect than he gets on here, not more.

To be fair to Brook he has had 18 months or so out with injuries; he wasn't a top class amateur and learnt as a pro. If he doesn't grab his next opportunity then I'd surmise his heart is not in it. Frankie Gavin is creeping up on him and Khan is proven a level above him.

Collazo is better than anyone Brook has beaten and that was just a standard fight for Khan.

He was a top class am... Him khan and Gavin were big names from being about 12/13 winning everything in their weight / age

It's just that brook wasn't quite good enough to get selected for Olympic trials

Yet again the gun is jumped.
Brook gets himself into the mandatory position stays unbeaten then must wait for his shot.
The title has changed hands and Porters team hold the cards.
They will rightly look for maximum return minimum risk.
As any one would ,the politics allow manipulation of the rules.
Add in the spin unknown Brit the fight won't sell blah blah blah.
Along with a couple of good performances and it's easy to make a case in favour of the champ looking past his mandatory challenger.
But what's that is in no way right or proper.
Neither is it a reason to slag Kell at every opportunity.
For supposedly knowledgeable posters to ignore the facts and post unwarranted hate towards a British fighter who has earnt and maintained his position.
Yet finds his career being directed by American boxing politics designed to retain titles and the multi million dollars generated from controlling those titles.
Is not only a sad indication of our vanishing identity as a nation deserving of respect by the rest of the world.
But sets a precedent that even hardcore fans accept that it's ok to work your pudendum off fight your way to the top the crooks in charge at that level decide your fate.
That maybe the status quo but to roll over and accept it is why it continues to get worse year on year.
I'm not saying Brooks team aren't deserving of criticism we are all frustrated at the level of opponents and pace of Kells career.
But give the lad a break at least till we find out what's going to happen re his shot.
He has earnt his shot I really hope he gets it I know for sure he wants it to question that without foundation is wrong and says to me you don't want to see hard graft and sacrifice rewarded.

TJ - no point banging you head on a brick wall. Some fighters for whatever reason don't click / connect with certain people.
I spent years defending Ryan on here when he fell into the doldrums then the very same haters wanted to kiss his arse after the Moore fight.
It's just the way it is.
I have faith in Brook to deliver.
I know the devastation he went through with the injuries leading to his withdrawal and the even greater devastation when Alexander got hurt.
Alexander believed, Brook wasn't.
Only in the UK do fighters fail to get national support.
We like to kick people off pedestals even before they get there.
Think it's best to leave the subject tbh and see what evolves.
For once because it's the IBF money won't talk with their rules and regs unless they want the FBI back involved.

That's a really good post TJ and though brook is a very good boxer with power I don't feel he's really earned his shot. I can only imagine the politics etc but the best way to get a title is to box regularly and beat highly rated boxers. Too much looks to have been agreed in smoky rooms. Beating Jones and senchenko isn't really hammering at the door of the elite.

I'm not sure but doesn't a unification fight take priority over a mandatory? Thurman holds a interm belt which of course we don't see as world champion but do the governing body's to make them unify? I hope kell does get his shot but I reckon they can be paid to step aside!
