Choi went home to Mongolia I believe, where he's a pretty celebrated guy. He lived in Oldham before that I think, but I think he's in Mongolia.
Tbh, I'm not surprised they can produce athletes cos of the lifestyle but I'm surprised they can develop someone in a sport like Boxing to the point where a bloke like Choi can up sticks and fight Pro abroad. I think he fought in the Far East as a young Pro, which was no cake walk I imagine.

The chap who was 'even better than Naz' from the Ingle stable who had one fight abroad (S Africa???), drew it by poking his tongue out and not doing much else and never returned.

Oh and Daniel Teasdale. Touted amateur, lost in 1 to Ibbotson and had one more fight 5 years later.

Any tidbits?

What happened to the kid with the "Superbad" nickname....only the nickname sticks with me, fought on a televised show after some serious build up and looked poor....think he was trying to fight like Naz but didnt even have the fundamentals or any power.

Khalid something, I think he got into trouble. Brendan always overhypes his lads.

Superbad was interviewed live before the fight and he came across as a cross between Naz and Phil Neville. He then went out and fought like Phil Neville.

Khalid shaffiq was with Glyn rhodes from a young boy through to 17 then did a bit of a naughty n jumped ship to Brendan, know the lad quite well but only drop on him occasionally, does what he does to earn a living. Steve 'Superbad' Barnes was an exceptionally strong n hard punchin schoolboy who won titles as a kid but another one who got 'caught up' physically by the time he was 17 and could no longer intimidate opponents with his physical presence, trained by his dad as an amateur.
