Dip going left by Marquez, doubling the jab and scoring one. Alvarado is dropping the jab from a high guard, not quite reaching Marquez with most of them.

Marquez definietly looks a little slower to me than he did at his peak but he's still got enough speed.

Round 4
Marquez is timing Alvarado's jab, inching away from it moving laterally at mid-range and countering with sharp piercing jabs on the nose. Alvarado is getting caught every time he breaks the extra-high guard and reaches down with a jab or 1-2. Very sharp jabs by Marquez. Constant movement by Marquez, going left, staying outside, sat back. Alvarado reaches in with a declining right hand lead and is countered with a combination.

funny thing I don't hear Merchant you must have a different telecast. All I hear is Lampley and Roy Jones, Kellerman.

Round 5
Marquez is doubling the left hook, alternately twice on the body and once up once down. Really nice combination work by Marquez, flowing nonstop without pause for extended periods and keeping Alvarado quiet in a tight shell, finding ways to circumvent the shell and land clean stuff. Marquez is scoring with both hands all over Alvarado. Push-jabs and uppercuts by Alvarado, blocked and missing as Marquez sticks his butt out, drawing himself outside in a small-target compact package, countering with jabs and crisp combinations.
10-9 Marquez
50-45 Marquez

marquez still throwing nice combinations. Alvarado got in a couple of nice
shots, though. I didn't expect marquez to outbox Alvarado this badly.
Alvarado is so slow to get off and only throwing a few punches a round.
5-0 marquez with no close rounds

Round 6
Marquez is circling left and blocking or sashaying away from every attack by Alvarado. More varied offense now by Alvarado, leading with left upper-hooks after bending his knee on the instep, but Marquez is still making him miss and countering with good textbook shots. Alvarado gets a piece of the body with his uppercuts, and grazes the head of Marquez with his right hand while moving straight in on the moving target. BLISTERING right hand counter by Marquez after quickly ducking. Alvarado dusts the top of Marquez's head with a flurry but eats a couple of solid counters as Marquez ducks and exits the pocket.
10-9 Marquez
60-54 Marquez
