Then this can only mean that Johnny G is ducking Fenech.
Say it aint so.
Say it aint so.
Jhonny G called out Barry long before Fenech even mentioned his name... like always, the one ducking here is you.BoxBuzz wrote:Then this can only mean that Johnny G is ducking Fenech.

3 Barry Jimmy 1720.7
Barry does not deserve a title shot. Since dropping a World Title in Week 21, he had beaten CPU wimps Arnold Taylor & Moises Castro. And that aint worth a title shot any season.

4 Dixon George 1518.4
George Dixon has already been a World Champion.
5 Escobar Sixto 1500.2
Two time Champion of the World.
8 Brown Panama Al 1483.2
Two time World Champion.
9 Rigondeaux Guillermo 1467.8
Been a World Champion.
10 Fenech Jeff 1462.8
He's beat Agustin Senin for the past two weeks. Not even being considered.
11 McGovern Terry 1461.0
He's hard a terribly hard run as of late. He's taking a rest from World Title action.
14 Zarate Carlos 1421.3
Has already signed for a fight this week.
Canizales isn't ranked high enough to get the shot, even if he were. He wouldn't deserve the shot over Jeff Chandler. The Man who BEAT Canizales, and fought to a draw with Caballero.DaveyMac wrote:Crease wrote:Okay, here is my reasoning:

Chandler and Caballero still have a score to settle at some point anyway. I hope he still has that belt next week because if he does one of my boys is coming for it.
Fair point. But how many titles has Orlando won? Now, compare that to Jeff Chandler and Cannonball.DaveyMac wrote:Canizales BEAT Caballero, and he started 12 weeks late!
It won't be close next time either. Morales is going to destroy Williams!!!!kevo wrote:gilgamesh wrote:
The scorecards don't mean sh*t when you have a KO on your mind. Morales has a tendency to turn up the heat in the second half of close fights. Luckily for you The Kid didn't have to find that out. He will next time though.
The fight wasn't close. Cool story though
Well the only title he got to fight for was the SD loss to Chandler, which one judge thought he won.Crease wrote:Fair point. But how many titles has Orlando won? Now, compare that to Jeff Chandler and Cannonball.DaveyMac wrote:Canizales BEAT Caballero, and he started 12 weeks late!
You realize next week Jimmy Barry would be the mandatory #1 contender for his belt right? Provided he's still got it next week that is.BoxBuzz wrote:Creases makes a good case that no one is worthy of the WBO cept his boy. I say he should not even have to defend it.
He should remain champion Emeritus!
So Barry is the Jofre mandatory, but not worthy of GobbleArrow? A loss is a loss whether it's to Jimmy Barry or anyone else. So I'd say the logic is flawed. Why would he duck Jimmy Barry because he's afraid he'd lose just to fight someone else that he'd lose to?BoxBuzz wrote:gilgamesh wrote:You realize next week Jimmy Barry would be the mandatory #1 contender for his belt right? Yep, Crease want's the next guy to face Barry....he know's he's goin' down this week and it's his way to avoid the Jimmer.
Seeing as these 3 bailed out, what about Escobar or Herman?NazNaci1 wrote:Actually Ortiz holds the IBO title so Gomez won't pursue that as he is ranked too high. Instead he calls out McGovern, Al Brown or Erik Morales.......failing that, match him up with Chavez again.
I didn't even notice you had challenged Morales. I agreed to facing Kid Williams in a rematch pretty early in this Matchups thread, but I definitely look forward to facing off with Gomez at some point. Perhaps we'll meet in the Million Dollar Tournament where the cream naturally rises to the top.NazNaci1 wrote:Seeing as these 3 bailed out, what about Escobar or Herman?NazNaci1 wrote:Actually Ortiz holds the IBO title so Gomez won't pursue that as he is ranked too high. Will either of these step up and fight Gomez??
I'll grant you that. You most definitely deserved that decision over Chavez. That's a win for your man in my book.NazNaci1 wrote:Well Gomez has beaten by KO, no less, the best fighter in SIM (Jofre) and dropped 2 razor thin decisions to him aswell (1 pt each time). Well depends by what you mean by 'stack up'. A cut loss after 3 rounds in an even fight is not an indicator. Seeing as both Panama Al & you are confident, let's sign it up and see what happens?DMA1987 wrote:Jofre isn't the best fighter in the SIM, Panama Al is.NazNaci1 wrote:Well Gomez has beaten by KO, no less, the best fighter in SIM (Jofre) and dropped 2 razor thin decisions to him aswell (1 pt each time).
