As someone who thought he was the man with the speed, explosive punching power and attitude to beat Wlad...that was a very interesting and honest interview.

'Toegate' aside; he's finally put it on the record and said that he made a mess of his training and could have pushed himself far harder in the fight and that it was a deeply disappointing and lame challenge that in turn damaged his overall credibility. Well done David!

I am in the minority here, but I actually would like to see David fight Wlad again for the simple reason that he is still one of the few challengers out there with the right tools to upset Wlad and that he'd have a point to prove.

Another tweet that Fury took down said is 'that why Adam has taken up boxing training'

Haye acted like a right twat prior to the Klitschko fight. From reading his quotes and from seeing him via the media in the last year or so I'd say the guy has grown up and now developed into a decent and likable human being. Good on him.

So what did he gain then? The Charr and Fury fights were both scheduled in 2013 and Haye last fought in 2012.

the vegan stance is good hope he sticks to it. its not easy

I still want to see him fight Fury. I bought a ticket for the last one and I'll buy a ticket again if it happens.

It's a shame there's no footage around of his spar with adrian dodson from the 90's.

It was every bit as funny as you might imagine.

as cringeworthy as it was when he pulled the toe out. I still maintain, that toe was a perfectly valid excuse for his performance in that fight, i always have.

You try walking on a broken toe, let alone spring off of it to make the kind of explosive attacks he would have to make to get in range to hurt wlad

I, like you, thought and still think he has the tools to upset Wlad. I reckon his speed was the weapon he needed to get up close and in range to land a big shot

I'd favour Wlad in a rematch, but if fully fit i'd give Haye a good chance of getting the stoppage. If he had not had that broken toe, I gave him an even better chance in 2011.

This will get roundly laughed at. But as I said, try breaking your toe and jumping around a ring, it's not going to happen

If it was his big toe, I could understand, but it was his little toe, you hardly put any weight on it and if fighters can fight with broken hands and jaws and go through the pain barrier, he could have done it with his little toe.

I've broken the little toe on my left foot twice. Both times, it effected the way I walked. I was sparring a fair bit back then and it was the last thing in the world I wanted to do with a broken toe. I have the utmost respect for Haye for taking the fight with that injury. He could have (and maybe should have) postponed the fight, but didn't. Yes, he gave a pretty shit performance, but in reality, Wlad is just a bridge too far for Haye. He lost and as a result, tried to justify that after the fight by showing the world his injury. People justify things all the time, especially boxers after a loss. Who wants to admit that they were wrong and that the other bloke is just much better than them?
