Tough fight - I watched Andrade properly last night - he's definately very decent and being a southpaw may mean as discussed earlier Brian's jab is less effective. But it's all hearsay really Brian is very for, has a respectable dig and a very sharp brain. If he can get his jab going I could see him troubling Andrade who has an Antonio Tarver look about him.

I think Rose's jab and height will trouble him to a degree- I worry about those looping punches he throws Brian is very orthadox and prefers to tuck up rather then slip and roll. I know what my head says. This seems a bridge too far but Brian has a habit of raising his game. I think that it's his destiny and he will do it. He'll suprise Andrade with his jab and hand speed. I think Andrede is used to lesser skilled boxers mixing it with him I don't see Brian doing that - I don't think he'll leg it but he certainly will be boxing to a plan that won't involve him trading.

I think Andrade might well find himself behind at halfway and he looks a sulker to me- if he is Brian wins this on points.

I dunno Andrade beat Martirosyan in his last fight pretty damn convincingly in his last fight who gave Lara a fair bit of trouble when they fought before a cut ended the fight and it was ruled a technical draw in the 9th. I do think Andrade has some flaws but whether Rose is good enough to expose them time will tell.

I was going to say "Jennings vs Cotto", or "Rees vs Broner" - might be better analogies, but Andrade doesn't have the standing of the three champions at this current time.... but then on the flip side I don't think Rose has the same standing as Jennings or Rees.

Have to say, from what I've seen he does look a level above Rose (sorry) and also sorry to say being mandatory for the title doesn't necessarily mean a competitive fight automatically - as Jennings vs Cotto showed.

Hope he proves me wrong though.

Stu, i was going to post exactly the same. Do hope im wrong but as in aforementioned its case of brit/euro level fighter stepping up to world class and the gap being too much. As i say, i hope I'm wrong, but i dont see anything other than Andrade with ease.

Exactly, quite a few have mentioned the Maciel win, but who is / was he? I'll bet less than 5% of posters on here (if that) had heard of him prior to the rose fight, let alone seen him fight.

I remember when almost everyone of you on here said Brian wouldn't get past British level a couple of years.. Well he's in New York fighting at the Barclays centre fighting for the light-middleweight championship of the world as the mandatory challenger not bad for a lad from little Blackpool who wouldn't get past British level AndTheeeeNewwwwww

Love it mate and hope you're right. Hard work sometimes pays off. And if Andrade is looking past him then Rose could shock a few people

If you've not seen Maciel's fight against Pirog you've missed out. Not that it was a great fight but Maciel looked VERY good that night.

Only saw it when it was announced he was fighting rose. It was the standout win on his record

Brian can do it. He is very tenacious and has first-class technique. It won't be easy for him, especially in the other bloke's back yard. But I have a feeling he may pull it off tonight.
