I played in a couple of those games,lester divers god rest his soul. We used to play with hislot up pyebank,all the dudes used to park their beamers on the field so u used to be careful not to hit one of them with a stray shot! I was a few years below his crew so we were all respectful and quiet when we played with em! I was one of the few white kids in the area and being able to play football helped me to integrate. Good times they were always a game on at least once a week..
Christ, it's been years since I heard that name. He would be embarrassed at some of the 'boys' around today.

Some of the coolest people around used to go there and they'd not got a penny to scratch their arses with, some beautiful women as well but I used to go from Donny to Sidney Street for the music - there was no where like it.
I only went a couple of times, but I think its safe to say it had gone downhill. At least it seemed that way for a 16 year old lad. Loved the music though. Still catch myself searching Youtube for some of the classics sometimes, gutted I lost all of the tapes and CD's I used to have.

I used to go to Niche around 15 years ago and Lester Divers was supposed to be one to watch out for, I think Ross Burkinshaw's uncle or older brother was a bouncer there - he was sound.
Don't know him palooka but knew Lester outside of his 'day job' as I had sparred with him a few times when he was amateur, also knew Trevor Knowles/sumner threw boxing, he was a big pal of Lesters yr ago int niche? You'de find me in the patio area tryin to shark any 'spare'...always to no avail I might add : At the time of his death he was the main man in sheffield
