I don't think Brook fights Khan next (as mentioned previously). I thought Khan was committed to fighting in the US in November (Alexander?) and Hearn will want to give Brook a gimme fight in Sheffield. Zaveck would fit that bill.

A Brandon Rios fight is winnable & pretty high profile too.

Then Khan at Old Trafford in May/June. I don't think they'll fill Wembley but OT is a good 50k stadium to fill.

Brook V Khan will do 40000 tickets at least.

Providing the venue is right, I tend to agree with leforge. With ' online social media' it's never been easier to whip up a frenzy about a particular event and because Khan and Brook are both safe to put on any television programme at any time of day, they'd get a lot of coverage.

This time last year few would have believed that a Froch Groves rematch could 80k at Wembley. Anything is possible and Khan v Brook is as genuine a fight as Froch v Groves.

Eddie can't let Kell take a gimme next, it's proven that he needs someone he fears to produce his best in camp and on the night. Tough but big name fights now, even if that means shoehorning one in before the Khan fight.

What is the situation with Porter, was there no rematch clause in the contract??

DBF - Kell was mandatory. No rematch clause.

I think you could be right but i it would have to be a massive offer for Kells team to accept it. Porter is a horrible fight for anyone. If they did try for the rematch i believe it would get turned down. Porter is now in the "who needs him" club

If I was Oscar/Haymon I'd write Porter off as a bust, not throw good money after bad.

Does that suggest SKY pay $300,000 to show this fight? That's significantly higher than what the other broadcaster pays GoldenBoy per show.

And the people agreeing with you are all boxing managers, agents, promoters etc are they? There are people within this thread, who are very much in the know (far more than yourself and myself) and they are intimating that your overview of the situation (the purse being sh it) is wrong.

One thing I am fairly sure on and that is that your' idea of what a mandatory challenger earns when they manage to get a big name (or someone with a top American promoter) to defend their belt over here is way off. I'm taking an educated guess that Carl Froch did not earn humungous money when he beat Bute. Nathan Cleverly it's been reported did not earn great with Kovalev. Likewise even I'd say with Hall v Malinga, McDonnell v Ceja. And bidding 2.5 million dollars and making a thumping great loss would just be a daft thing for a promoter to do.

The total purse was circa £400k.... He was mandatory .... They should have bid and got the fight in Sheffield .... I don't give a shit if an agent promotor disagrees with me they are wrong I am right

To be fair if Kell ended up earning over £250k then i'm wrong and I would admit that but 1 video off pr saying it's a lot more proves nothing. Did fast car say how much matchroom took outta the +$500k?

I think it's pretty clear cut here.
Kell had to take what was available as Porter was in the driving seat.
Eddie will have pushed for as much as possible as he is on a percentage.
Gaining the title was the payday speculate to accumulate and all that now the money will come.
If it was a s.hit purse it was worth it coming home with a life long dream full filled as the champion of the world and the opportunity to earn enough to set you and yours up for life.
