I take the point of the comparison with Tyson, what I would say in response though is that Tyson's purses were divided up with managers and promoters. Floyd doesn't have such "problems", he gets the lion's share. So arguably he won't run out of money later in life because there is so much of it, but if you disregard the amount (whatever it is that he has banked when he hangs up the gloves) and base the "he'll go broke" argument upon his disregard for looking after his money properly, I wouldn't argue. I recall reading an Ali biography which covered the post-retirement financial mess which some decent human beings tried to sort out for the great man. The decent folk trying to help Ali adjust to retirement figured they should be able to structure him a good and long term income based upon his image rights - he was, after all, the "greatest". They found, to their dismay, that over the years, the hangers on had stuck contracts under Ali's nose during training camp which he'd signed without a second thought. These contracts diluted away the value of Ali as a brand. I think one particular example given was an Ali endorsed aftershave. The general gist of the tale was, the hangers on hadn't a clue about business and lined their own pockets, Ali got practically nothing from the deal, meanwhile there were dozens and dozens of companies out there who owned the rights to Ali or the Ali brand in some way, shape or form. So sad to read about something like that going on. As I get older as a boxing fan (I'm 42) I see the cycle repeat itself (not that I was around when Ali was fighting) and its so sad.

On a slightly related note, I imagine if you could pull together the stats of how many former top boxers get divorced in retirement and the ex-wife ends up with the big detached paid for house, I think it would be an appalling statistic. I felt so sorry for how things turned out for Michael Brodie. She got the nice house, he ended up being a taxi driver after hanging up the gloves.
