piss poor perfomance from a champion. I cant see any rounds that he has won maybe drawn a round or 2 but not won a round imo

Think this is just what Groves needed, the more often he goes 12 the better he will learn to pace a fight.

Dirrell is nothing special.

Why can't Groves beat him?

I agree, it was going to be his title all night, easy fight for him really, luckily he didnt blow up and run out of steam, he kept up the same pace all night proberly could have gone 15 rounds or more quite easily

well on the plus side he came through 12 tough rounds, and really kept up that workrate all the way through.

I'm not saying he cant. Just saying I cant see it based on that. I dont think Groves would of beaten Bika tonight.

Groves could have done with this fight before fighting the likes of Froch. another one with a guaranteed 12 rounds would be perfect before fighting Dirrell

Groves could possibly be a fighter who performs better when facing better opponents

On that performance, keep him the hell away from Zurdo Sanchez.

I thought Groves was trying to force it a bit tonight. I'd prefer him to move more and concentrate on technique more. He was loading up early and trying to outstrength his opponent. Groves is a better fighter when he moves his legs more.

I thought he boxed better in the Froch 2 fight that he did tonight but his hand was possibly forced by the type of opponent in front of him, high guard, take no chances.

Going the full 12 won't do him any harm, as mentioned here already.

Not too sure about the cap though George...

Still not sure what to make of Sanchez. Looks very good upto now but the opposition hasnt been the best to truely know how good he is.

His win over Rogelio Medina looks VERY good right now as does stopping Giovanni Lorenzo.

Yeah but does does Medina's win over Love say more about Love than it does about Sanchez to be fair?

Possibly though Medina's close losses to Jonathan Gonzalez and Marcos Reyes were certainly proof that he's not a bad fighter himself irregardless of the Love bout

Groves wasnt exactly that humble there. Just alluding to people saying Froch has been disrespectful.
