I find BJS much more of a twat nowadays. Used to be a big fan of his boxing ability but what with his racist and homophobic "banter" on ifilm, not to mention his talk of "crews" seeing off the Eubanks and finding male rape humorous, I think he's a complete twat. See THAT kind of talks out of order, saying cleverley was a paper champ isn't.
Wanted him to beat Eubank at first but now I hope he gets smashed. And I can't believe BBBC let him get away with it. If it was Tyson fury he'd have been fined thousands. Something should be done.
Good point.

He said some stuff that was perceived by some as homophobic. He's since apologised for any offence caused. I like Billy Joe, he's a refreshing change from the bland media trained quasi-saints who daren't say boo to a goose when there's a camera within 10 miles of them.

There was a thread on here that got deleted.
I don't know how to post links so you will have to search through the IFL videos (it was only a couple of weeks ago).
Having watched it if I was his manager/promoter I wouldn't let him within a mile of a camera or a journalist and would consider banning him from speaking in public until I had recouped my investment at least.

Therefore, he is obviously switched on - and as long as people form an opinion of him (good or bad) then that's better than being someone that nobody has any real opinion of whatsoever.
The fact that people are drawn to vent their disdain about him, shows that he is their thoughts.
Mission completed.
Surely mission completed would be to get people buying PPV against cleverley. I don't like him, i won't buy the ppv and i only comment and talk about him when someone else brings him up, such as this thread.
I know it's all talk but he does go too far, he's like the irritating kid who tells a few jokes too many and makes you cringe. He should let his boxing do more of the talking, but he can't as he's nowhere near as good as he likes to tell himself/everyone.

After apologising, he said he was off to do his training in Marbella, and told kugan he could come over on his 'banana boat' adding that Kugan might get a tan out there. Kugan looked embarrassed.
There are training courses for pro athletes that address this type of behaviour in the public eye, they need to send him one one quickly ! If bjs goes on to be a world champ he is a sitting duck to hit the front pages over inappropriate comments. In the 80's it was no secret that honeyghan had different kids by different women. The tabloids weren't interested because Lloyd was a nobody. He upset curry on a Saturday night and on the Monday morning, The Sun ran a story about five kids with five different women on the front page. It wasn't news really but it was judged to be front cover stuff. Bjs needs to be careful, there are pitfalls ahead with those sort of comments/views.

He was having a laugh with Kugan. Unless you actually want to be a broadcaster, media training is for flunkeys.

If Bellew used to come on here, away from the lime light, and was sound. But in front of the cameras in a fight build up, he is acting up a bit, what does that say to you? It says to me that he is probably sound but has to act like a dick sometimes for his job. Not the first, won't be the last. Just trying to get as much out of the sport as possible, which is fair enough.

I think you've nailed it there, if he acts up it may mean more money - he's been sound on here and sound toward opponents after a bout.

Exactly. Tony knows that SKY will go into overdrive with this, and loads of casuals will catch his "outbursts" on SSN. Winner winner chicken dinner if you will.

The point I was making is that in this day and age it doesn't take much for a fuss to kick off where race, gender, sexuality and equality are concerned. Media coverage loves to exploit something of the sake of creating a sxxtstorm storm. He would be wise to pick his words more carefully.
