When Groves fought Rebrasse, same thing, no French support, just his family and mates (ie, 10 people tops).

Sadly, I can not see any interest in a Polish/foreign fighter in the UK right now.

As Hearn said, no. A local lad with some sort of talent from whichever town, with the right promotion, will sell thousands of tickets.

A lad from France or Poland will not attract the interest of his expat community or just a small number. Again, look at what that local paper was saying about Whyte's opponent. They took the fight as they couldn't find any decent opponent (and we're talking about a small hall 6-rounder here).

It all depends on what the guy is doing here. If he is an electrician who lives in North Devon (I dont think he lives in Plymouth ) then he might fight part time. Maybe like many Poles with a trade he can earn better money here than he can in Poland and fights in his spare time.

He isnt the novice his record makes out. There are several videos of him on youtube fighting in semi pro tournaments. So he must have just figured all in all better off in the uk. He trains (or did) with the Adairs in North Devon and lives in Chivenor. So I am guessing is here for work and is boxing part time.

There are only ever one or two pro shows a year in Devon, maybe a handful in the west country overall, so he would have always known he would have to travel to fight.

I dont think people from Hull would have paid to see either Whyte or Soloksowski but just having a heavyweight match up on a show makes it more interesting to punters imo. ( unless Whyte sold loads of tickets in London for travelling fans or is training in Hull?)

I don't Whyte sold a huge number of tickets. He came to Hull to get another fight and win.

I suspect he'll be out again in Jan.
