Closer to subject matter, ask the average white Brit for his favourite boxers over the past few decades and you'll invariably hear Lennox, Naz, Eubank, Watson, Benn, Bruno and Haye.

Oh and it's nothing to do with him being Asian, it's that he's Pakistani & Muslim. Both these groups do not have a good reputation in the UK. If he was of Indian descent, I GUARANTEE you the majority of white British boxing fans would support him. They have no problem supporting black British fighters, so there'd be nothing stopping them from supporting an British Indian boxer.

There is alot of casual racism in the UK against minorities.

Anyone who disagrees can have a look at the blatantly racist headlines of popular newspapers like Daily Mail etc.

Even in "comment sections" of YouTube and these tablods, Amir Khan gets slagged off not because his boxing ability - but because he is Pakistani.

A white British boxer is not seen as representing his/her community with their out of the ring behaviour, a british Asian boxer is held to a different standard and it is wrong. There is structural racism shown in how things are reported and of course there are bigoted individuals and groups of racist fans who will not support Khan.

Khan has been in the public eye since he was 17 years old and he has been a very wealthy young man for years - people are sometimes a bit jealous.

Khan did the right thing by going to the USA, he improve as a boxer and he might still get some good scalps and be in the spotlight for a good while yet.
